Lovely Fish n Chip lunch and the chips were delicious. Friendly helpful staff even though the pub was full they were providing helpful advice on the range of food available on the day. Nice and different range of drinks to complement the food.

On reading the trip advisor questions, they seem to be regarding accommodation at the Red Lion. I can't comment on this as we were day visitors calling for a pint and a bit to eat. We regularly walk the Monsal Head trails and so one of our call offs is Bakewell. My husband fancied a change from his usual pub...

We stopped here for a pint and spot of lunch, the service was quick, both food and drink were top notch especially the twice baked red lion chips. They accommodate dogs in the tap room and will bring a bowl of water for your dog if needed inside or out. Will pop in again on my next visit to bakewell

Me and my 10 friends visited the red lion on a Saturday evening. The staff were happy to accommodate us and the food arrived promptly. All of our meals were very enjoyable and large portions. We particularly liked the lasagna, chilli, fish and chips and hot sandwiches. The chips deserve a special shout out (crispy and fluffy)! They even had...

Such a friendly atmosphere. A brilliant place to eat. The food was quick and superb. There was a good range to choose from with plenty of veggie options. It was family friendly with babies and children made welcome. I will definitely visit again, and can thoroughly recommend it.

Service quick and staff very pleasant. Can recommend the beef chilli, not too spicy - just right. Since our visit last year there has been a tidy up and now the restaurant has new tables and chairs & very smart it looks too!

Popped in on a whim as it looked pretty decent and was quite full giving an indication that the food was good. My wife ordered the chicken while i ordered the meat ploughmans. I was disappointed as the chips were overcooked, the coleslaw was tasteless and the pork pie was quite disgusting even though it was supposed to be award...
