We found this gem of a B&B after a long day at Chatsworth House. Joyce and Ian made us welcome in the universal manner of farmers. Our daughter Jenny, a dedicated horse girl, immediately fell in love with their two magnificent Shire and Clydesdale horses. The farm house is a beautiful historic building surrounded by a working farm. It is...

We had a really enjoyable stay with Ian and Joice at this lovely B&B in Derbyshire. The bed was extremely comfortable only comparable with our own and we both slept "like logs". Our springer spaniel was made welcome too, sharing our large bathroom and was on her best behaviour! There are some rules to obey when staying with dogs but...

We stayed here for one night in Feb 2013, we have a 3 year old and a 6 month old, which most B&Bs in the area are not even prepared to accommodate (this is what I found when searching), even though our children are good sleepers and well behaved. We were made to feel 100% welcome and relaxed at Hearthstone...

The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Not to mention cream tea on arrival, incredibly friendly and helpful hosts, and a first-class breakfast. Outstanding value in a beautiful location. However do not attempt to approach it from the Riber road at the Matlock end as it's hairpin bends on a 1 in 3 gradient, take the road out...
