We were on our way to the Addo National Park and had coffee at the Royal Hotel. Like most of the small towns in the outback, this is not a 5-star experience, but the beer was cold and they even have an espresso machine! Staff was friendly and we could watch town life passing through the main road! Support them,...

To many South Africans most every dorp has a "Royal Hotel"! We have been accustomed to the realisation that of these "Royal Hotels" are either really crappy or just very average. We had very little option to stay anywhere else in Steytlerville and were "forced" to accept lodging at the hotel. Well, I can tell you that we were pleasantly...

The only problem that I had was that our room was quite cold, but other than that it was a very comfortable stay. The room is well furnished, but there is no DSTV in the rooms itself. We also had a delicious dinner at the hotel's restaurant, Kudu burgers and malva pudding, which I can definitely recommend.

We can't comment on the hotel but we stopped for lunch on a road trip. Our lunch was very poor. We were told that the restaurant was struggling to function because of the long weekend but honestly it was just not up to scratch. Service was good though.

We did not stay over in town - just stopped for lunch on our way to Port Elizabeth. Friendly service, lovely stoep and fab lamb chops with chips and veg. One of our party had breakfast for lunch and enjoyed it just as much. The prices are reasonable.

We arrive hot and dusty after some hard bike riding through the very hot Willomore/Steytlerville area on day 2 of a 3 day trek through Baviaans. What a lovely, clean and beautiful town and the hotel is pristine. We had a 3 bedroomed "apartment" which was spotless and well appointed. As we were hot; they took the cover off the...

Five of us stayed there for one night after doing the Baviaans kloof pass and several places in Willowmore..We were the only people staying in the hotel so had great service.Had enjoyable meals in the bar - the only problem was that even with inner warmth the bar was chilly and the passage wood fire soon died down -with no...

I was pleasantly surprised with the neat and spacious accommodation. The only area they could improve upon is the bathroom curtains which is see-through at night......Overall a very pleasant experience.

From the moment we arrived at the hotel we were embraced by friendly staff, booking was perfect and room was clean and tidy. Basic but everything you need is there for Self-catering or Breakfast. Opt for breakfast as that was amazingly good. The staff was helpful and went out of their way to entertain our two toddlers. Nice small pool...
