We enjoyed our stay at the resort very much. We stayed two nights. The owner (contact Herson via +6281245239357) is lovely, the food was great, and the location and entire compound is beautiful. It's a bit remote though, about 20 minutes by car from Tentena by a rather bad road. The room was spacious and clean, the shower was great. We also enjoyed a nice swim in the very clean Poso lake that you can directly access from the accommodation. The owner organized a guide and a trip to the beautiful Saluopa waterfall, which we highly recommend.
We spend two nights in Dolido Ndano in Tentena. Like some others, as a rest during the long trip between Tana Toraja and Togean. But really it is worth a visit on is own! This resort is located beautifully on the banks of Poso lake. There's a beautiful, peaceful garden with lots of birds (several species of kingfishers hang out on the jetty, and hummingbirds are found in the trees) and butterflies. We had delicious gado gado and sate for dinner. The room was clean and modern. Not to forget, the host is super friendly, always helping with whatever it is you want to do. And always with a smile. We felt very welcome.
This has definitely been the most charming place we have stayed in during our top to toe travels throughout Sulawesi. The resort is run super efficiently by Mr Herson who arranged our wonderful guide Daniel to show us around. Our bungalow was spotless , the food delicious and we would have liked to have stayed longer! The high spot of our stay was driver Nain in his amazing Hello Kitty car! He drove us around for three days and is one of the best drivers we have come across! His piece de resistance was the 12 hour drive across mountains, landslides and fallen trees along windy dirt tracks in the monsoon rain to Rantepau, all the time cheerful and so careful! Altogether a brilliant experience!
My partner and I were staying two nights here and we really enjoyed our time here. Herson is such a friendly and caring person we really felt welcomed. The view at the lake is beautiful, we could rent a scouter to drive around Tentena and they even provided a little map. The food was good and the rooms were perfect. We really recommend this place and would always come back. Thank you for the awesome time!!!
The hotel is beautifully set on lake poso 7km away from the next settlment. That makes it a very calm and relaxing place. The beach is great and invites for swimming. Rooms are spacious and super comfortable meeting Western standards. The food in the hotel restaurant was EXCELLENT. The staff was really friendly and helpful. Knowing that the money from your stay also supports the orphanage next door makes staying here even more pleasant. We can highly recommend you coming here to enjoy yourself
What is not to like about Dolidi ? Beautiful place, peaceful, on the lake Poso with beautiful spirit. We stayed in the most basic cottage and it was great ! It has a terrasse which gives on the lake and the beds are so good. Eef and Herson are amazing hosts, really taking care of you. They achieved amazing things here between the orphanage and the clinic and we were glad to help a bit : money of the bookings is going to these projects. We advice without any hesitation the next travellers to stay there and to spend at least 2 nights : just to relax, enjoy the place and to visit the region ! You won't be disappointed ! Amélie and Koen
Herson was a great host and very responsive from the first moment I contacted him. The rooms are very nicely down and clean. There is hot water. The breakfast and dinner very nice and reasonably priced. The location is very pretty. Really an idyllic place to stop over and very good value for money. Re tentena, there is not much to see there, the Bali village, market and waterfalls can be seen in a couple of hours max. So we expanded the visit to include some hiking in Lore Lindu which was great. This was arranged with Herson. Herson arranged the transfers from Rentepao to tentena and from tentena to ampana at reasonable prices. The drive from Rentepao to tentena is long, even more if it is raining or rather pouring down as it happened to us.
We only spend one day there on our way to Ampana. The cottage was nice, clean and had everything you need. Wifi was not possible to the time we were there. Food was really great. And the host was more than nice and spend an hour with us explaining how everything got build. The lake is amazing. We rented some motorbikes to go to the waterfall. I would definately recommend to go there,it was amazing. O canot say much more, it did not look like you could do so much more in Tentena but if you have time you can go the national Park which is not to far i guess.
It is not easy to get to Tentena, but once arrived there is a jewel to be found; Dolidi Ndano Towale. This place is amazing. Well designed bungalows (everything works), beautiful garden, excellent view over the lake Poso. The restaurant has the best saté of Sulawesi. However what makes this place really remarkable is the safe haven next door for the orphans and other children in need of Tentena. Eef, Son, Joyce and the staff are doing everything to create a little paradise on earth by providing a new future for the 20 kids next door. Thank you for showing this. Tip; Mama Ayu is not only the cook for the kids, she is also a great hairdresser
We've stayed at Dolidi Ndano Towale to have a short break from the long bus ride (Rantepao to Ampana). We've arrived by local public bus from Rantepao and the trip took approx. 14-15 hours. I've booked a room in advance by email and luckily at our bus stop there were two Ojeks waiting for us to bring us to the hotel (50k IDR per person and from the terminal it was approx. a 12 km drive). The rooms were very nice and clean and the crystal clear lake was amazing. Next to the resort they've recently renovated a children's orphan home with 20 children of various ages. The life story of the owners / caretakers is just heartbreaking. The money what you spent will be partially invested in keeping the orphan home running. The day trip to the waterfall Saluopa by motorbike is very nice after a long day traveling. I would definitely recommend this place and if possible stay at least three nights. We continued our trip by private car (800k IDR) to Ampena and luckily we could share the cost with 3 other travelers whom we met at the waterfall.…
