A friend and I have stayed in Beleek Castle Hotel a number of times in the past and had a thoroughly enjoyable stays with wonderful service and amazing food. My problem is that during 2016 we couldn't get a room for any weekend no matter how many times we tried. Going mid week is no good for us as we...

I just found this to be a truly special place to stay. Our room had a fourposter bed, and was comfy and warm, and could be controlled locally. The restaurant is really great, serving excellent, and truly local food. I can always tell by the taste, especially the breakfast rashers. I haven't tasted rashers like these since I was a...

Went here for a family party. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The house is beautiful and our room was well appointed. So why not 5 out of 5? In reality it should be a 4 1/2, but I can't give that. The food was very good but not brilliant and the very pretty shower gave little more than...

Lovely overnight stay at the Castle. Service and reception were very friendly and efficient. Room was big and well designed. Great bathroom, shame about the water pressure. We had a private dinner which was fantastic, food was really very good.

Decided to call in on this well-restored 1830s neo-Gothic gem to sample the afternoon menu after visiting the excellent Jackie Clarke Collection in Ballina town. It was very quiet on a December afternoon but friendly and efficient staff welcomed us and quickly installed us in a rather grand sitting room with a roaring log burner. Our beef and horseradish sandwich...

We stayed at Belleek at the last moment and arrived too late to visit the medieval great hall and the vast collection of weapons . Other guests told us how interesting the Marshall Doran collection was but we were only able to bask in the very eccentric bar designed to appear as an old Spanish Armada ship. Now that could...

If your are looking for a Bland, clinical, uniform experience with Robotic greetings at Reception...stick with A Hilton or Radisson....If on the other hand you wish your senses and imagination exercised....stay at this Hotel...It's quirky....Furniture is mismatched, a smoky atmosphere at reception....a door from your room that opens out into the corridor.....But wow....it oozes character, and a sense of history...

We spend a couple of hours at Beeleek Castle viewing the Marshall Doran Collection (the tour usually lasts just over an hour). The history of the Castle was interesting - but the vision of Marshall Doran's restoration was fascinating. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and was able to answer all our questions. This tour is the only tour that we...

Dear Marg, Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. The museum guided tour really is intriguing and you leave feeling a much better connection to the Castle and the heritage it processes. Learning about the history of the Castle and then taking a walk down to the largest private collections of fossils and armoury it really is something...

We were a party of 6 spending 3 fabulous days in early November to celebrate the retirement of one of our friends, and boy did he celebrate!! Our welcome was warm and friendly. Dear Kathleen, Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback for our Castle. The colours around the Castle are beautiful at this time of year. With the bronze, golds, yellows and oranges you can feel the warmth as the look out over the forest. We have also been decorating for the festive season here in the Castle so with...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Belleek Castle....... an iconic Irish Country House, restaurant (AA 2 Rosettes), hotel and spectacular wedding venue…Belleek is unpretentious, cosy and friendly, rich in decor and antiquities, with open log fires to warm your steps back through this cultural adventure.Enjoy a contemporary dinner, with generous portions, in our unique light panelled dining room. We have developed a new food philosophy. Our spirit is to search for more “Depth of Flavour”, exercising both classic and imaginative cooking techniques. We use seasonal ingredients and produce, selected from the land, sea and air of Mayo, and combine these with the traditions of the Castle. However, our signature dish is a Castle classic, the "Drunken Bullock", a filet steak flambéed at the table and served flaming from a sword, adding theatre to succulent steak. Hand made oak tables, eclectic romantic music, lit by candlelight, with charming attention and delicious food.“One of the most atmospheric and delightful dining experiences in Ireland”, Bill Gooch, Virginia Beach.Guests may enjoy a private viewing of the Castle museum by appointment. Belleek Castle hosts The Marshall Doran Collection, the finest collection of mediaeval armour and Jurassic fossils in Ireland. How many times have I heard? “Oh my God!” or “Oh Gosh!”Belleek Castle... Unique, intimate and magical. ... more   less
