Love this place. The staff are great and always make you feel welcome. The food is superb, the rooms are spacious and tasteful. The interior of the castle is unlike anywhere else, the various rooms created from old shipwrecks etc. The place has real character and class while retaining it's charm and without being pretentious. Highly recommend for a stay,...

Dear Trav, Thank you for your kind comments. If you like history and the romance of a time gone by this is the place for you. As you have mentioned with a strong nautical theme running throughout you are easily transported to bygone times when life was for living and wonder came from artefacts, stories and amazing handcrafted buildings. Dear Aileen, Thank you for your comments. Aileen when comparing Mount Falcon and Belleek Castle it it is like comparing apples and pears. Belleek Castle is an authentic 19th century neo-gothic built Castle which has been restored and loving cared for by the same family since the 1960's. Whereas Mount Falcon is a more modernised environment inside. Mount Falcon is...

Went to Belleek Castle recently for a family birthday meal. Went for the 3 course dinner for 29 euro. Was really pleasantly surprised by the lovely balance of quality, creativity and generosity of food offered. Service was also a very nice balance of polite attentiveness but not too formal. They were so flexible and gave our kids the choice of...

I think when one goes to Ireland, one dreams of staying in a castle but often it's unaffordable. Belleek Castle is affordable and full of charm. The grounds are spectacular as you approach and the castle is lovely. The main hall and staircase make you feel as if you've arrived to movie set! The highlights: 1.) the lovely castle itself...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Belleek Castle....... an iconic Irish Country House, restaurant (AA 2 Rosettes), hotel and spectacular wedding venue…Belleek is unpretentious, cosy and friendly, rich in decor and antiquities, with open log fires to warm your steps back through this cultural adventure.Enjoy a contemporary dinner, with generous portions, in our unique light panelled dining room. We have developed a new food philosophy. Our spirit is to search for more “Depth of Flavour”, exercising both classic and imaginative cooking techniques. We use seasonal ingredients and produce, selected from the land, sea and air of Mayo, and combine these with the traditions of the Castle. However, our signature dish is a Castle classic, the "Drunken Bullock", a filet steak flambéed at the table and served flaming from a sword, adding theatre to succulent steak. Hand made oak tables, eclectic romantic music, lit by candlelight, with charming attention and delicious food.“One of the most atmospheric and delightful dining experiences in Ireland”, Bill Gooch, Virginia Beach.Guests may enjoy a private viewing of the Castle museum by appointment. Belleek Castle hosts The Marshall Doran Collection, the finest collection of mediaeval armour and Jurassic fossils in Ireland. How many times have I heard? “Oh my God!” or “Oh Gosh!”Belleek Castle... Unique, intimate and magical. ... more   less
