Marvelous location with very cosy rooms, great hospitality, somewhat dated interior but large room, excellent bed, all required accommodations to spend a few days in lovely surroundings. Large parking.

Friendly service, good breakfast and beautiful grounds overlooking the River Lee. We scored this hotel "average" only because the old fashioned décor, odd plumbing & strangely located electrical sockets lets this old country house hotel down. Fairly good value though even on a bank holiday weekend.

Parked up in Macroom for coffee and rang the Coolcower Hotel on the off chance they might have a room... they did! Twenty minutes later I'm taking photos out of the window like a tourist because I'm overwhelmed by the beauty of the River Lee. But let's not forget the quiet efficiency that allowed me to breeze from car to...

Enjoyed our stay in a beautiful room overlooking the river. Very picturesque setting. It was refreshing to stay in a house with an interesting quality interior and furnishings. Beds very comfortable, room quiet. Hostesses very friendly and knowledgeable on the history of the property. Very good breakfast. Well located outside Macroom which is an interesting town to visit. Stayed here recently. Fantastic setting, view and location. Food was good, service good and lovely hostess. But rooms could do with a bit of an upgrade. Rooms were quaint and old with lots of character but some elments could do with improvements (e.g. kettles in rooms very old and dirty inside, tv too old (hard to see as so small)

Firstly thank you for staying recently at Coolcower House Macroom and thank you for your feedback and evaluation. We are delighted with the many nice things you had to say about us. The house was built in the 1920 and is an old Country Residence and therefore the bedrooms are all individual and unique. This is not a modern hotel....

Some of the floors creak and some of the fixtures have been well used, but I don't think you'll find a more charming location or more caring staff in West Cork. A genuinely warm welcome and clean, comfortable beds await you. Evelyn Casey and her staff are amazing and produce everything from breakfasts to banquets. We bring a group there,...

We were headed for Killarney but were too tired to continue, so we started looking for a B&B in Macroom. One on the road was brightly lit, but we opted to go down a narrow road and see what Coolcower House looked like. It was a Tudor structure, end of the road, on a river with a picturesque stone bridge...

We three visited today for evening tea and the WI Fi was working very well in the downstairs area, the bar and sitting room area. There are Televisions in all the bedrooms with four channels. The fresh flowers were great and the outside garden looked colourfully. it was quiet and pleasantly peaceful.

We were late getting there and had not booked. We asked for a 7 30 am breakfast, but this could not be done, 8am we were told was the earliest, not very hospitable. The room was small and the ensuite tiny with paper thin walls, there was a radio on close to us all night, not loud, but in the...

“Room 5 is probably the best in the place. Lovely furnishings and stunning view out the front window. Room 6 is the next best for three people. Then room 4 is in the back, and the furniture and décor is extremely charming/romantic--if you are tall this room won't work because of the tall footboard at the end of the bed. Definitely ask to check it out though.”
