We traveled to Ireland with 4 other couples during July 2013 and The Quay House was our very favorite B and B (we stayed at B and Bs throughout our 2 week stay). Julia and Paddy couldn't have been more hospitable or friendly. Two out of three of our rental cars had minor "encounters" with inanimate objects requiring some repairs....

A return visit and still the best---we love the Quay House and its quirkiness, we love the pugs, we love Julia and Paddy, we love Clifden, we love the wonderful breakfasts, we love the beautiful views. Sorry to be so over the top but this is just a great place and we were so happy to return. As others have...

This is an amazing place. Each room has a theme. We stayed in the Napoleon room that was like a museum to all things Napoleon. This room had good views of the water. Our hosts gave us an introduction and each time we met them would have a conversation with us. As others have mentioned the breakfast is really special...

We spent seven nights at the Quay House. We adored it! Paddy and Julia we wonderful hosts and we felt that we were not just guests, but treated as friends, in a courteous manner. We stayed in room 6 (with lots of birds in it - is that the "Parrot" room?) which was at the top of the stairs but...

Our group of 2 couples stayed here two nights and really could have stayed much longer as this area has SO much to offer - from castles to an Abbey, to hiking, to a beautiful rugged coast with very exciting drives along the way, and the town of Clifden with its gorgeous harbour and extreme high/low tides. The Quay House's...

The water in the bay, that is... This is a very unique place. The original structure is the oldest in town! The owners have since added on. But, if you stay in the original portion you may get an unexpected surprise! Each room is unique, the water views really nice. Paddy and Julie are great, and very helpful both when...

Of the six places we stayed at during a tour around southern Ireland this was by far the best. Quirky and interesting decor with a luxurious touch and an interior designer's flair, Paddy and Julie run a relaxed and delightful small hotel. The location, a few minutes walk from the centre of Clifton, was quiet and attractive. Our room was...

We stayed as part of a holiday to the West of Ireland and it was the best accomodation we stayed in. We arrived early and were given a choice of three rooms, all equally interesting and comfortable. The one we chose had a four poster bed, sitting area, small kitchenette and large bathroom. The hosts Paddy and Julia were relaxed ,friendly...

My wife and I stayed here for a couple of nights at the end of September for our wedding anniversary. At the time of booking Paddy told us he would keep a "romantic" room for the occasion and he was certainly good to his word. A four poster bed with floor to ceiling double doors that opened out to a...
