We stayed for 2 nights as part of our short tour of the Ring of Kerry. Meta was a very welcoming hostess and we loved the house and the way she has restored it. It has only 4 rooms and will not suit those who like modern smart hotels. However it's location overlooking the bay and the view we enjoyed...

Having read the mixed reviews we visited we were unsure of what to expect. What we did get was a warm greeting, a handy map to navigate the gardens and off we went. Our walk started on the sea walk and there were a couple of areas of the path that needed some cutting back, however the views towards Knightstown...

Our trip to Glanleam started out bright and sunny on June 3rd 2012 and things got even better from there on in.We were greeted by the most friendly young lady, the daughter of the house who gave us a map and advised us on the route to walk towards the healing well and meditation area.We started off in the walled garden...

I accidentally discovered Glanleam while I was looking for B&B in Valentia. It proved to be an extraordinary find. It is a beautifully restored old house, full of beautiful things. Our room was airey and spacious with a fine king size bed. The bedroom had a wonderful view and an excellent bathroom. We were served a great breakfast with free range...

Attacked by two vicious barking dogs while walking in the garden. Fortunately they were muzzled but one doesn't expect such an encounter after paying 6 euros entrance fee. Toilets unusable, really not suitable for the public and definitely overpriced.

To visit Glanleam gardens is to experience a truly magical environment. The idea that its possible to grow such lush and exotic plants on one of Europe's most westerly inhabited island surrounded by the atlantic ocean is hard to imagine..............until you see it! Try walking around the gardens, take time to explore the many hidden treasures, water courses and pools,...

I am an avid gardener so you can imagine my delight when I recently went to Valentia Island County Kerry to find this attraction on the doorstep. However the experience of the visit to the gardens was a huge disappointment and extremely expensive. The literature promises a magical sub tropical garden with various sections and wonderful walks. The reality is...

I stayed at Glanleam House with three friends and we all enjoyed our stay tremendously. The standards were very high, the surroundings beautiful and the owners were helpful and friendly. Our rooms were comfortable and luxurious with spectacular views over the bay to mountains on the mainland. The exceptional and historical gardens are fascinating and their ongoing restoration is the...
