What a wonderful experience and worth every penny (and then some). To hold and maintain such an old and lovely mansion is no easy feat. The owners are heroes for doing such a great job - clearly doing all they can, bit by bit. Restoration of such a place takes lots of years, time, money and most of all love....

My daughter & I spend a delightful few days in this wonderful, old mansion by the sea! The garden & the grounds are magnificent, and the view over the water is just breath-taking. The rooms are well maintained and lovely. Breakfast is so delicious, and served in such an elegant manner on beautiful china. All the fruit is fresh and...

The Bantry house is a old money Irish Mansion. That was built on the backs of the poor Irish. Now I'll get off my soapbox and tell you it's old but very well kept beautiful grounds and it's right on the water. It makes you realize how the rich of the past have lived . Our room was comfortable overlooking...

This hotel is truly one of a kind. We stayed here for two nights as part of our whirlwind trip across Ireland, and it was so majestic. The grounds, gardens and home are so incredibly lovely. The management extremely kind and helped make our stay so warm and cozy. The fireplace late night with cocktails was a definite highlight, as...

We stayed here for a night recently and were absolutely blown away by the scale of the grandeur of this place. We hadn't appreciated the history and were thrilled to feel like, for a very short time, we were a part of it. The room was spotless, there was loads of hot water and nice smellies and the breakfast was...

This was my third visit to Bantry House. Sophie, Sam and their mother do a great job keeping this beautiful and historic house open and accessible to the public. The house is a precious element of Ireland's cultural heritage, a place of national importance, and it is a credit to the family that they have managed to integrate guest accommodation...

Bantry house is a very special place. The owners are the heirs to the estate, the same family has been there for centuries and are happy to answer questions about the history, which is plentiful. Gorgeous and private, definite pride. The grounds are spectacular. The host is lovely, friendly and professional. The breakfast was great. The rooms were fabulous, spacious...

Comfortable B&B in a spectacular manor estate and gardens overlooking the sea. Managed by descendants of the family from the 1700s who couldn't be more gracious and welcoming. The rooms and baths were sumptuous and very comfortable, the grounds were unbelievable, and the museum part of the house astounding. Guests get to experience a very grand library sitting room as...

Once we found the reception (tucked away in a corner with no obvious signage) we had pretty much walked around the entire main building. Clearly there is a need for some TLC on the exterior, but we understand that this is very expensive and difficult for the young family currently running it. The interior, however, is extremely well done -...

This is one of the loveliest places we have ever stayed. From the splendor of the room and gorgeous view over the harbor to the personal touch placed on everything by Sophie Marie White and her family.
