I have been here in October, November and December. The food is very lovely which is why I keep returning but I have never been somewhere where the service is so consistently and heinously bad. It’s embarrassing for them and lets the establishment down. Majority of servers are young staff but most of the staff don’t even have the basic skills (things that you don’t require training for). They also don’t seem to have general training. Wrong orders, waiting a long time for food, lacking in manners and some staff wouldn’t work on a battery - just seem to float about aimlessly and slowly. Kitchen is at the very back so there are times there is no one on the floor. Can’t get hold of anyone when you need them. Asked for water for the table and they give one glass of water and nothing for the other party. We are not the only people who have noticed the poor service - word of mouth travels and have heard about other dissatisfied locals. As I said, the food is so good which is why I keep returning. But management really need to hone in and heavily train their staff

Dear Guest, Feedback is welcome and genuinely important to us as a business to gain the knowledge of what we are doing to please our guests and also to establish what we need to work and improve on. Obviously we much prefer if guests communicate their feedback whilst still onsite in order for us to try and correct or deal with an issue or situation that will ultimately have a positive outcome for our guests, that said, it is your right to communicate your experience how you see fit. I must be honest however and tell you that regardless of how hard hitting or accurate your feedback may or may not be, I do take exception to the attack on our 'young' team and your unnecessary comments 'wouldn't work on a battery'. Really? I do not profess that we get everything right on every occasion but we go in to 2022 with a renewed sense of optimism for our industry and we will continue to invest in our product and our people. Kind Regards, Andrew Walker General Manager

We were up from Wexford for the weekend and had a lovely stay in the Fairways. We have to say a massive thank you to the night porter Bernard in particular for helping us out one night. He was very kind when we came back to the hotel and full credit to him. His kindness made the stay memorable. Lovely, clean hotel with lovely food. If we’re in Dundalk again we will be back.

My partner bought me a voucher last year for a two night stay for my birthday and due to covid we could had to reschedule to November 2021 When we arrived we had an Executive King Guestroom with breakfast and evening meal booked and we got put into a small, dark room at the very end of the corridor on the ground floor. When we walked into the room we could not hear ourselves speak or think due to the excessively loud noise of the extractor fan in the bathroom, we tried to turn off the fan every way possible even asked at reception but we were told there were no maintenance staff on site so there was nothing they could do. We requested another room on the second floor and it was average, the highlight of the room was the bathroom. No way of turning down/off the heating and the room was overly warm and clammy, windows barely opened to allow for any cool air to come in. Our evening meal in the restaurant was lovely and the staff went above and beyond. However our two morning breakfasts were ice cold and food looked as if it was sitting there all morning (at 8.30am) not a great selection or choice of food either. Unfortunately we would be very hesitant to stay here again, pity our experience was so underwhelming.
