When we arrived renovations were underway on the Leisure club which meant there was a lot of excess equipment in stairwells and we could only access the pool by going outside around the building works. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, the room was adequate for 3 people sharing although the walls seemed paper thin as we could hear the...

Dear vgfdhigtcvjiy Thank you for your recent review on trip advisor. We apologise you had some difficulty accessing the leisure centre. Our refurbishment programme is well under way and is causing minor disruption midweek to our hotel residents. We do look forward to welcoming you back to the Royal Hotel soon

Very friendly staff and excellent breakfast but fell short on evening meal and general appearance. It was obvious that it is being redecorated but it definitely looks very jaded. When choosing a room it is worth while checking if it can be accessed from the lift without having to climb additional stairs. Ate in the bar on both evenings during...

Stayed here with the family as part of a birthday group of 22. What can I say? Fantastic hotel!!! Clearly recently refurbished to a high standard. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was fantastic and fairly reasonably priced. Didn't use the leisure facilities but they looked fabulous and very clean Can highly recommend this hotel

Had a wedding celebration here in February. From start to finish was an excellent day. Suzanne and the staff could not have made the day any better. Everyone on the day praised the food and the service itself. Function room was set up perfect for the evening entertainment and DJ had everyone up dancing for the majority of the night....

We stayed only one night but found the room comfortable and clean with tea and coffee and good bathroom. We had a very nice breakfast the next morning. It is only a short walk from the hotel to the sea front and it has a bar attached.

Rooms lovely and clean. Amy on the front desk and other young girl very helpful and pleasant. Older ladies could be friendlier. Dave in the bar an absolute gem. Housekeeping very helpful. Rooms could benefit from having a mini fridge.

Average hotel, definitely a little run down, staff were pleasant and bed comfortable, but we had a very noisy room that faced the main road. Good for one night, but not if your after a luxurious night away.
