Recently spent the night at a wedding here on a Saturday night. Hotel is lovely and so are the staff but there's 1 thing I couldn't understand. We checked in at reception & while my girlfriend got ready I went to get us some drinks. I asked reception where is the bar. They said it's around the corner to your...

My daughter kindly arranged a midweek break for us using her "Blue Book of Ireland Gift token". Checkin was very quick and staff really nice. Room 52 was large and cosy with 4 poster bed, sofa, armchair etc decorated in a country cottage style. However, there was no hospitality tray, but when I queried this, I was told tea/coffee could...

Just perfect. Room clean and tidy, staff friendly and helpful, food was excellent, probably the best I ever ate. Michelin star restaurant really deserve it. And quiet, it's like time is slowing down, your heartbeat is slow and steady, relax. Just perfect.

We held a family dinner for 12 people here on Saturday evening and the whole experience from booking to the room and food was excellent. All of the staff we dealt with were a credit to the place. The food and room we were in were both complimented upon by all who attended. Would strongly recommend for any similar event.

The place was quite busy when we arrived. There appeared to be at least one function going on. Nonetheless we were attended to quite quickly. The order was taken promptly and the tea and scones where are delivered quite quickly although they forgot our order for water. The scones were very good served with clotted cream butter and jam. I...

The receptionists here are efficient and very friendly - and they alone would make you want to come back. My room was beautiful although I am not fond of 4 poster beds. I had dinner in the restaurant. The staff here and the bar were attentive and welcoming. I had the fillet steak for dinner which was beautifully cooked and...

I had the absolute pleasure of spending the afternoon with my husband in the Barberstown castle tearooms on Monday August 22nd. From the gorgeous garden flowers radiating in the afternoon sun to the complete tranquil ambiance of the tearooms I have nothing but praises to sing for the beautiful tearooms. I was worried when arriving that there wouldn't be a...

Attended Barberstown as part of a bridal party in July 2016 so can't comment on the organisation of the wedding, only what it felt like to be a guest! Staff were great on the day - there was always a manager there for the whole day and evening and they went out of their way to help. Food was to...

Having been to Barberstown Castle on numerous occasions for what I would consider as the best Afternoon Tea in Ireland, I dropped in recently on a Sunday afternoon to find the same relaxing atmosphere, the open fire & the pianist playing in the corner . . . but, unfortunately they no longer offered the Afternoon Tea. It was one of...

I had the most fantastic wedding day at Barberstown Castle. It's such a beautiful venue and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. So many of our guests have commented on what a brilliant place it was for a wedding and said the food was delicious. I would 100% recommend it as a wedding venue and would just love to...
