Our stay here was wonderful. I particularly enjoyed having a luxurious bath in front of the tv. Everyone at the hotel was exceptionally helpful but in particularly we would like to mention Chris the manager, Christine the housekeeper, Michelle the breakfast chef, Lee the Head Chef, plus Shelley, Georgia and James. The food was delicious and our dinner guests loved...

Good: Crow's Nest v. nice room exactly as it looks on the website. Evening meal very tasty, and reasonably priced. Welcoming staff. Not-so-Good: Breakfast not included (£9.95) after paying £149 for the room (I'd expect this for that amount); very slow breakfast service and poor offerings for the cost (barely done toast, coffee, orange juice ... that's it). This was...

Stayed at the Craven Heifer for one night in October. The rooms are certainly not cheap and so we checked in early to make the most of our one night without the children. The Crows Nest, in our opinion, the pick of the rooms, is full of atmosphere and feels both luxurious and relaxing. We didn't dine at the restaurant...

Visited on a quiet Monday evening for food, dog friendly in certain areas, food was nice although service was extremely poor, we were served by 2 very young ladies who's inexperience showed by the lack of welcome, service and serving warm wine and then had to be asked for a wine cooler, food was fine but would not visit again as...

Stayed on the 27th December 2015 for one evening and couldn't fault the room (crows nest) or the food (both evening meal and breakfast). Staff were brilliant and very accommodating as soon we arrived. Would definitely recommend. The village is also beautiful and we had a lovely evening walk with a few pub pit stops - all were very welcoming

We visited with friends. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. But the wonderful food and staff are the real stars. The staff are very polite friendly and very helpful. The food was wonderful, we were lucky enough to stay here and sample their taster menu which we can highly recommend.

Our room was beautiful and quirky!, The bath in the middle of the bedroom bath sold our visit, It was disappointing that some things needed a bit of TLC. The shower head of the bath was broken; the plunger in the sink was broken; and the mattress has seen its days. . We had the seven course taster meal (which...

Had heard good things about the food here so decided to give it a try. Popped into the gents first, the unsanitary stench was awful, didn't even try the food if hygiene is so bad. Came away. I always think the condition of the loos is a good indicator of overall standards and this place fell short of mine.

The rooms are overpriced and the service isn't up to scratch but the cooking is excellent. We constantly had to ask to be served, which becomes wearing after a while. The kitchen makes up for most of these faults.

We stayed for a night as we were at a wedding nearby. The room was lovely and we slept well. There was a kettle, cafetière coffee and tea leaves in the room but when we woke on Saturday morning we realised there wasn't a cafetière or a teapot so had to wait for breakfast! I have arthritis and am scared...
