Ideal room for a dog, straight out the room door to outside. Although, noisy as smoking area for the bar. Dog can be left in the room if dining in the hotel and allowed in the bar after 9pm. We were not happy leaving our dog so walked to a pub that allowed dogs in the bar area where we could eat. Room was fine, clean and comfortable, friendly reception on arrival

Myself and my partner stayed here for 1 night in September 2021 and we had a very enjoyable stay, the staff were so helpful and welcoming. The location is perfect, especially if you're looking to visit the local shopping outlet. The room was quite modern and very clean, with all the essentials provided. We decided to have dinner at the hotel and we made the right decision, the food was absolutely gorgeous, especially the desserts! Really fantastic value for money.

My wife and I ate here last week while staying next door at the Surrone House B&B. Excellent menu and very reasonably priced. Friendly service in a really nice bar area. Large portions of food so I will just go for one course next time we eat there. Excellent all round.

My husband and I booked for a 2 night stay through Booking.com and for two nights with breakfast included we paid £110. The hotel it’s self is located in the perfect location if you want to have shopping trip to the Outlet village or if you want to do the usual touristy things when you come to Gretna Green. For us it was perfect, it was our wedding anniversary and we managed to leave a padlock on the Love wall and head out to see Hadrian’s Wall. Our room was one of the chalets located at the back of the building and admittedly when we first saw it my heart sank- However as a base that is comfortable and clean it was great. Our room had everything you would expect, coffee and tea facilities, hairdryer, fab shower and a flat screen tv….We couldn’t get the tv to play Netflix or Amazon and the WiFi was a tiny bit unreliable but that didn’t bother us too much. Bed was super comfy and I can only apologise to the guests either side of us who would have had to listen to the sound of my husband snoring. The hotel is tired in places, and they did when we were there seem to be super short staffed. Our only minor gripes were:- -Check in is at 2pm, food stops being served by 2pm so we were a bit stuck for a option to eat when we arrived at 2.15, not sure if there could be a guest option for an extended service time for check in’s? -How long it took for our breakfast to arrive and even though a vegetarian option is on the menu they didn’t have any available. However- the lady who was on shift this morning was really nice and even though she was running around trying to make sure the diners had what they wanted when our food did arrive it was really lovely. -When we checked in there was no one on reception and it took a little while for the young lady who was serving in the restaurant, to come and check us in, she was however extremely polite and helpful each time we interacted with her. Unfortunately due to illness we had to check out a day earlier than planned, and rather than be able to explain to reception why we were checking out (absolutely nothing to do with the hotel) I had to leave the room key with a hand written note due to there being no one on reception. This is a really fab hotel, you can see the impact that Covid has had and on businesses that are family run it is sad to see- this hotel has so much going for it, the food we did have was great, the service was good and our room was comfortable. We paid what worked out at £27.50 each for a two night stay including breakfast- Give this hotel a try it deserves a chance to get through the disaster that was the Pandemic and get back 💯 on it feet. We would definitely be happy to come back.

Great service and exceptionally good food. Staff do cover all areas from lounge, reception and bar so you may need to wait a few minutes. I’m sure this is a result of recovering from the pandemic. Unfortunately they didn’t have shampoo/conditioner in rooms and I didn’t have car to go hunt locally to purchase. This was a supply issue again Brexit and pandemic likely the cause. They did the next best thing to give me 3 body wash tubes which did the job of cleaning my hair. Room comfortable, some paper lifting. (Rm 18) I hope as they recover they can get back to room maintenance. Couldn’t get on wifi, didn’t show up but didn’t push them further to resolve. Other than that it was a very pleasant stay, great value for money and food and drinks. I would stay here again just few mins walk to Gretna outlet.
