I usually don’t write reviews. However this time I really think we need to warn people if you intent to stay there and more importantly if a travel agency try to sell this hotel to visit Khao Yai. Walk away and refuse . This place needs a total refurbishment . Some people may tell you that it is due to Covid: it cannot be the case when everything is rusted. It is sold as a 4stars. It deserves 1. SPA has been closed for years , there is no laundry services . Diner stops at 8 pm - we need to order at 7pm max. Furnitures like sofa , armchair have stains or tissue is torn. No need to describe the gym . The trash area is at the image of the hotel and last but not the least: don’t try to find the evacuation card in your room : there is none. People working there are trying there best . What is needed is a proper management and proper training .

Bad service and cleanliness. First impression for my room was a lot of mold staining of flushing toilet. Pillow sheets and linens had musty smell. I asked the maids to cleaned all of those again. She looked amazed like where those came from and said firmly that all rooms were clean before I came in. My last straw was breakfast. It used to be buffet but this time it turned to be a set for each person with a very limited amount of food. Only rice porridge, 2 slices of bread and orange juice were provided in my set. Only coffee and tea the could be refilled if you needed. The place is really old and out of maintenance. My long weekend was tainted with these!

The resort is of greenish as surrounded by big trees. The stream beside the resort is a small one and the water current is not strong, though owners attempted to make it natural by filling the stream bottom with big rocks/stones. Admittedly the green environment is a plus. Still I would like to offer our unfortunate experiences and impression in the following : a) Staff is unpleasant, unfriendly. There is no human touch, they simply say Yes first. There appears no supervisor or manager who has an overview or manage the place. b) Breakfast They serve at 0800 am. and what they served is... egg fried rice and minced pork boiled rice. There are a few of sausage plus a few items of eggs. No fruits, nothing else are offered. c) We parked the car inside the compound as guided by the staff. We found that the staff arranged for another car to park and block our exit. In the morning, when checking out, we had to wait until that car owner came to move the car. In case of any emergency, this is going to be a problem. Staff said nothing, no sorry, no apologizing... just asked me to wait until the car owner coming to move the car d) Swimming pools do not look clean, it is murky somehow. We asked the receptionist if we can see the manager, they did not react, so we could not see the manager. We went there for a family holiday which became an unpleasant vacation. I would like to address the issues of Ndol here for the purpose of sharing with others.

the setting was very peaceful and the sound of running water in the stream was very relaxing. The rooms are very small with not much area to move around, bed was very comfortable, nice pillows and cover, bathroom was a disappointment, the bath is set very high and the step to get up to it has a long drop and with no rail to hold onto, could be dangerous if you slip as the hob tiles have a sharp edge, with a bad back I had trouble getting in and out of the shower. The shower curtain does not stop the water from flooding the bathroom floor and the shower itself is set on the wall far too low and even holding it you have to bend over to get your head wet as the connection is too short. Water pressure was good and the water was hot, toilet seat was broken too and needed replacing plus the flush buttons didnt work properly, for the price they charge per room it is well below par and way over priced, we had to pay virtually the same price extra we were charged for 2 people for our daughter to also stay in the room, more expensive than some 5 start hotels with huge rooms. The menu meals are also well over priced and below par, again they were more expensive than some top restaurants and no where near as well prepared, the only saving grace was the BBQ dinner, prices were great and the food was excellent and well cooked by the girls, better off going elsewhere for meals apart from the BBQ. The bar prices are also a tad high but as we were offered a second drink at no charge with each one we got during the happy hour it was ok, outside this time I would go elsewhere for drinks as even non alcoholic drinks were way over priced. Over all it was relaxing which is what we wanted, really liked the setting & where it was situated but for the price it was well below par and we would not recommend it or stay there again unless they actually improved the pricing and the rooms although if the room size and costs dont bother you it is very relaxing and tranquil.

This hotel and restaurant is in a beautiful location along a river which provides a tranquil setting. The grounds of the hotel are beautifully maintained and you will feel like you have been transported back in time. There is an outdoor patio overlooking the river which provides an ideal setting for a relaxing dinner or lunch. I have only sampled a few items from the menu, however, what we ordered was well prepared and presented. The service was outstanding.

Ndol is a hidden gem of a place outside bustling Bangkok and great for travelers looking for an elegant and quiet home away from home. The rooms and location are all really beautiful, very peaceful and relaxing. The garden is stunning, and there are lots of nice streamside places to relax with a book. Great getaway for harried city folks like us and we look forward to our next visit in NDOL.

Where to start... it was a complete disaster. The check-in was silly and unprofessional, they even came back to ask for the 10 baht pen I used to fill in the breakfast form... Let me start with the big disappointment on the second day, while relaxing and having dinner in the room, we started to hear loud music. After checking outside, it appeared that the hotel invited a large group for a karaoke evening. The sound was unbearable, we had to speak louder to be able to hear each other inside the villa. After requesting the staff to do something about this, they said they would turn the music down. That didn’t happen. When we asked the staff for the second time, they said they couldn’t do anything about it, and they left. After we raised it for the third time, we were offered another room, without choice... So, instead of making this hotel a peaceful place for all guests, and fixing the problem, by stopping the music, we had to grab all our stuff, pack again, and move in the late evening to another room on the other side of the hotel. While the music continued. The music was still an annoyance in the other room, only a tad further away. We lost half an evening of trying to get the problem solved, but we lost our hope... so had to move out and move in... and we would only stay for two nights. After raising the issue to the manager, they could only repeatedly say sorry. They offered a spa package free of charge, but that is not solving the problem, but that was clearly only to shut our mouths. We of course didn’t accept that. We left the hotel early in the morning, to never return here. To complete this disaster: For the big price you pay, the villa is not private at all, completely exposed, so you want to keep the curtains closed to get the feeling for some privacy. We also asked to fix a very noisy air conditioning unit (that kept us awake at night), they promised to do this, but when we came back in the evening, nothing happened.

Love this place. A bit of travel back through time. It is not a modern place but it has got character, nature and attentive service. Was out most of the day time, but enjoyed the short moments when we were on site. Stayed in a 2 bed room suite in the oriental wing (room 12, Colonial) with a balcony overlooking the pool. Breakfast area was by the stream - lovely ambiance. Staff were attentive and helpful. Did not managed to enjoy the happy hour or dinner or spa as we came back late each night. It is a bit further away but you’ll get a great location for some peace and quietness. We checked in on a late Saturday night, must be one of the last few as the parking was full. Think it is a getaway for local thais from Bangkok. Best to have your own transport when staying here.
