Rented four different suites in this jazz service apartment - on 11,15,17 and 29th floor ... All 2 bedrooms with Seaview. Though this apartment is pretty new but maintenance and cleaniness vary with different ownership. The lower floor suites in our experience has laminated floating floor living room while the higher floor better finish ones are ceramic living room. One suite we rented did not provide toilet paper and just one plastic plate with master bedroom shower which tend to flood and a musking smell emitting from living room/washroom. While the one we rented at 29th floor was very clean, fully equipped and as advertised live like a millionaire ... These apartment probably cost over myr $1 million and centrally located with Tesco just across the road and a night food court .. just 10 mins walk away. Overall so-so stay to excellent and as indicated much dependent on ownership and their agents maintenance.

We were contacted by agent regarding our checking. A set of keys were dropped in the mail box of apartment. Security greeted us on arrival and helped get our names in the visitors log book. We were able to retrieve keys to our apartment n found that without key card no one can come in and was needed to swipe to enter lift lobby n to use lift n to use pool/gym area. The apartment itself was new with butlers pantry n new appliances. However it was very VERY dirty with hair stuck in shower stall. Tiles were yellowed with grime n scruff on wall. Though it says it’s serviced we did not see any housekeeper throughout our 5 day stay. No glasses were available so we bought one from Tesco which is directly opposite n left it there. Other utensils were also very dirty and worn out. Overall place is new, location is ideal for beach walks with mall opposite for shopping and rm6 -10 ride to gurney plaza n other places.

10 of our family stayed here for 4 nights. The apartment was clean, quiet and comfortable. 3&1/2 baths was a bonus. Our unit was lacking towels so walked over to Tesco across the street 1st thing to purchase those plus breakfast and lunch supplies. There is also several restaurants (including McDonalds) in the building with Tesco. No microwave or coffee pot in unit either. Just check amenities carefully for the unit you rent. We were on the 23rd floor overlooking the Straits. Up early due to jet lag but were rewarded with beautiful sunrises. Several restaurants at Straits Quay mall a short walk away.

This is a fairly new condominium in a quiet neighborhood . We booked a 3 bedroom suite on the 17th floor . The unit was very tastefully decorated with all the trappings of home . The kitchen area was fully equipped with split air conditioners in all bedrooms and living area and a giant LCD TV screen . The master bedroom was also luxuriously furnished with a king size bed & an LCD TV screen . The attached bathroom was large with a bathtub & the shower area even had a rain shower . Looks like the owner invested a lot of money to make it as comfortable as possible for the guests . This place can accommodate 6 to 10 guests comfortably . Visitors to Penang should enjoy the variety of food available & also not forget to take a drive to the city center to see the treasure trove of Colonial heritage and Oriental buildings Georgetown had to offer.

Jazz Servics Suites:
Please do not book this service suites. I booked the suites on December via Hotels.com thinking this is a suite hotel just like Tropics Eight or Northam Suites Hotel. I made the full payment to Hotels.com and gotten the confirmation immediately via e-mail.

When I tried to check in today at 11pm, I was told by the front desk security to show them my unit number. Hotels.com never sent me any unit number so I called the number on the listing. A guy answered the call and asked me to send him the hotels.com confirmation number. A few minutes later, he told me there is no suites and there is nothing he can do except to refund me. He then proposed me to another location which I have never seen before for a replacement of Jazz Service Suites. Apparently, he is just an agent asking the owner to rent their apartments out and they list it on hotels.com.

First of all, i never expect hotels.com to do those airbnb type of business. If it does, it should show very clearly this is airbnb type of rental instead of hotels.

Secondly, after making full payments, i am expecting to stay in a place as promised by the website.

Overall, this is huge disappointment on hotels.com and Jazz Service suites.

An excellent apartment with all the amenities of a modern home - fully functional kitchen, large fridge, laundry with dryer). the 2 bedroom apartment housed the 5 of us (2 adults, 3 kids ages 16, 14, 11). 3 toilets, 2 bathrooms. Very good price particularly considering all that were included. Clean and safe (no in house safe - suggest bring own portable safe (eg pacsafe travelsafe), but room doors including bedrooms are electronically locked and accessed with key card. Locked parking included. Within walking distance to a major supermarket and shopping centre for daily groceries, and even souvenirs. 3 pharmacies to choose from should the need arise all within walking distance. A hair salon in the centre. Very nice and clean infinity pool for adults, smaller pool for the kids. Well equipped gym, not big but of adequate size. Close to eateries. If one is seeking cheap western type meals, KFC and McDonalds and a good bakery in the said shopping centre. Short distance from another major shopping precinct of higher standard shops and restaurants. Short distance (need a car or taxi) to the Gurney drive precinct where there are more shopping centres, restaurants and cinemas. Also not far from Georgetown - will also need taxi or own car.

Beware of the last minute cancellation by the owner/agent by giving lame excuses. We have no choice and got to cancel and book other apartments elsewhere literally minutes before the stated check-in time during super peak period Christmas eve. Very lousy experience with Booking.com and this property. Though fully refunded, it's not a matter of refund but a waste of time rushing to find a place to stay during peak period. I suspect our cancelled unit was rented out to get higher offer during Christmas eve. In addition, the cancellation also messed up our credit card reward/rebate transaction timing.

We found this place by accident. Called to enquire and view and booked a unit that was facing sea view. This service suite was just launched not long ago, it is located at a very convenient location, walking distance to Tesco, hawker stalls (through back lanes, short cut, etc), Straits Quay Mall (there have a similar actor studio type of theatre). The unit we were in was cozy, the deco has a homely feel, the management and staff was very helpful and provide helpful tips on where to eat and new place to visit. It is also within a very short distance to Gurney Plaza shopping centre. We later decided to extend our stay and have been having a relaxing times to unwind from our busy schedule. It is definitely recommended!
