We stayed at both North Sulewasi resorts and both were brilliant. The location, facilities (especially the massage at the Manado property), and food were all great. Would highly recommend and will be going back again.

I’ve heard great reviews from the diving community in Singapore that Cocotionos IS THE place to go in Manado / Lembeh and they lived up to that hype :-)

Went in May for on a combination package (Manado+Lembeh) and stayed in one of the water facing rooms. I loved that you don’t have to worry about your gears from start to end as they pick it up from your room (in a basket labelled with your names!) and do the same when you’re leaving. Everything was well taken care of and the dive group was always kept small to cater to different divers.

Rooms were cleaned daily. As for the food, if you’re on full board you’ll be kept very happy.

Ronny was our dive guide and he was amazing at spotting the smallest critters. He took us to see dugong, butterfly nudis and of course the turtles in Bunaken National Park.

There’s nothing much outside the resort in the village so you’ll be spending most of the time diving, swimming in the pool or having meals in the restaurant.

The land transfer from airport was short (about 20mins?) to reach the small fishing village of Wori. Upon entering the small and cosy resort premises, we were ushered to the dining area for the usual F&B discussion, diving documentation and resort briefing. Our rooms were already pre-paid and we needed to only settle the F&B part. After much negotiation, Amel (hope I got her name right!) gave us a good deal. She and Intan made sure we were well fed during our stay.

As we’re the only guests arriving that day, we had the freedom to choose our rooms for the category paid. We settled on a room which was placed a bit farther away from the pool as we wanted a bit of peace and quiet and away from the other guests and groups who were arriving in the next few days. Size of the room was not lacking, furnished with the usual mod-cons with a nice little veranda to catch the sunsets.

We used the pool only on the day of arrival. It was also used as the training / classroom pool for student divers. After our daily dives, we’re just too knackered to jump in!

A dedicated camera room (which had an in-efficient A/C) was next to the dining area. The Dive Center (Odyssea Divers) was adjoining to this camera room. Air-guns were available and permanently fixed on the external wall of the dive center.

At the end of the long jetty, was where guests would board the dive boats. There’s also a small “Pondok” for catching the breeze and watching tiny fish frys. Water was relatively shallow all the way to where the boats were moored for the night.

Dining tables were assigned at check-in (with your Room Nbr placed on the table). Brekkie was usually buffet with an egg station. It was also the time when lunch was pre-ordered and served a-la-carte. Dinner was mostly buffet. Depending on the number and make-up of guests, there may be “theme” nights. Suffice to say, we did not go hungry.

We took a leisurely walk around the small village surrounding the resort. Children and adults alike would smile and wave. It was a do-able 2km walk in the late afternoon, to work off the additional pounds ……. Hee hee.

Diving was very good. We had a dive guide assigned to us for the whole trip. Ronni looked after us well. What we wanted to see, he could produce (within his means, that is). Night dives with him was like being constantly bombarded with one un-identifiable creature after another!!! Mind-blown!

We would return for another stay soon.

Special thanks to: Amel, Intan, Selamet, Ronni, Ivan, Alfius, Grethy, Aprilla

Spend a week diving at Cocotinos Manado last week. This is my 2nd visit since 8 years ago and their service and accommodation are still as excellent as before. Big & comfy room, attentive & friendly staff, nice food and best of all, experience dive guide to show you the wonderful underwater of Manado, Best resort you can find there. I give them 2 thumbs up or 3 if i have spare.

Cocotinos Manado is a lovely little boutique dive resort about 25 minutes from the airport. My wife and I stayed in a seaward facing room with just the right amount of accessibility and privacy. Not our first stay here and it was consistent as always. The dive guides were attentive as they always are and so were the boatmen. The food was excellent and so was the company, with Manado music to accompany the meals. We preferred diving the mainland instead of Bunaken and they were more than accommodating. We will keep coming back as a couple and as a family and we can't wait for our next trip.
