We spent 6 days at Bird`s Eye View Lodge, as part of Island Expeditions Mayan Trip. The lodge is family owned and has a comfortable , friendly ambiance. The birding boat trip on the lagoon offered views of many herons, storks etc that are of interest whether you are a birder or not. The 2 Mayan trips, each unique, offered... More

I visited this property last February as part of a Belize birding tour. The property is beautiful and right on the lagoon. The rooms are adequate, large and clean, but not particularly modern. I can recommend this property if you are birding in the Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary.

May is a perfect moment to see water and other birds, especially jabiru stork. Staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. Food in the hotel is good, rooms are clean, air conditioned. Be prepared to a lot of wind and a bumpy road leading to the hotel from the Northern highway. It could be a good base for visiting Maya sites... More

The lodge itself is nice, clean, comfortable, has air conditioning, and accepts Visa credit cards. The food is very good. Plus, the view for breakfast is of the lagoon. The staff was real friendly. We took a three hour birding tour. We are casual birders. However, this trip was great. Our guide, Leonard, found birds that we could not see... More

Surely the most droll, wittiest waitress of all time. She just added to the charm of this lovely lodge on the edge of a large lagoon. The rooms were very comfortable, the common areas charming and comfortable. The grounds are manicured and pretty. The food is adequate and plentiful But let me return to the staff they couldn't have been... More

Crooked Tree is a haven for birders and that's why we were lucky to stay here for 3 nights. It did not disappoint--we saw over 100 species of birds! This was our first stop on a two week trip to Belize which was planned by Birding in Belize--Paradise Expeditions. Our room was spacious and clean although it did show some... More

Just returned from a couple of weeks in Belize including a few days at Bird's Eye View Lodge. I'm a casual birder and was traveling with a more serious birder. The guides were wonderful and met our somewhat varied needs. We had a second floor room which opened onto a lovely deck area with nice tables and lounges. The rooms... More

The birds were plentiful, the accommodations were comfortable, the food very good and the people, kind and helpful. We especially liked Ruedi's birding skills and mannerisms! The boating was great, we especially liked the Boat-billed Herons, Bare-throated TigerHerons as well as the Squirrel Cuckoo and Striped Cuckoo.Thank you for making our 70ths memorable!

We had a patio room which was a good size, 2 double beds, adequate bathroom with a fan and AC. Lovely patio area to sit out on. Restaurant serves good food, buffet style with lots of fresh fruit & vegetables, freshly baked bread & pastries at breakfast, dinner is a choice of 2 main dishes with plenty of vegetable side... The camping area is about 150 yards from the lodge and is a very good spot unless there has been a lot of rain in which case it gets a bit flooded and muddy. The area is open with a few big trees which provide good shade. There are 4 tent sites with palapas and 3 or 4 picnic tables... More
