Had the opportunity to visit before when I stayed with Mercure Lomtalay Rayong, I really liked it then decided to book the hotel., Hotel's lobby was decorated in a modern way with a touch of the sea. and other facilities such as swimming pools, restaurants are fantastic. I really love the hotel's private beach. especially in the evening, the wind blew during a long walk on the beach and releasing my stress from the city. Beautiful room with simply and comfort. Breakfast was food with Thai local food and yummy. Service provided by staff was amazing especially, Khun Piyaporn Reservation manager. My husband and I had a chance to be back at this resort twice recently. We had noticeable nice stays. Frankly speaking, this property is our favorite resort in Rayong because of its location, hotel facilities, comfortable room, services and staff. The resort is around 30-minutes drive from Rayong City Centre and 20-minutes drive from Mae Ram Pueng Beach, where is accumulated by a plenty of local fresh and dried seafood stores. Drive further a bit from the beach, tourist will reach Bann Pae, where is a ferry pier to the beautiful renowned Samed Island. Moreover, a lot of local seafood restaurants can be found at Mae Pim Beach, 10-minute drive down further from the hotel. Although the hotel is a bit old, but it is in good maintenance. It is also full of family-friendly facilities including two huge pools, one kid pool, kid club, indoor Jacuzzi, Gym etc. The suit rooms, both superior and deluxe, whether on the 1st or 2nd floor, where we are usually kindly upgraded to are, in our personal view, one of the best suit rooms among seaside resort in that areas due to its room size, layout, amenities and sea view taken from the room. The outstanding services provided by many teams of hotel staff is something that must be mentioned. Actually, during our 2nd stay, we faced a couple of minor inconveniences, but Khun Pattawee, the energetic and supportive front manager professionally and politely took some action and finally left us a good impression. Appreciated indeed. Furthermore, return to this property also give us a joyful opportunity to see other familiar and fantastic faces, especially Khun Daeng, an awesome and caring front office and Khun Keaw, an lively staff at ‘The Shore’ seaside restaurant. Both of them really fulfill our stay with warm welcome and delight. In sum, this hotel and its staff are amazing. They offer a terrific quality of services and impressive stay that usually leave us amazing experiences every time. Getting to the hotel after a 4 hour drive a quick check in, and then off to the room, where we found our booking had been not correct , so back to reception, where new( 2 rooms ) were found in the configuration that suited both families, fantastic helpful reception, did a great service in sorting these rooms. Using the beach in the morning, Spa and pools during the day, The Gym had enough to keep up fitness so as not to fall too far back in workout, The breakfast buffet was just great so many choices, coffee bean coffee to wash it all down, very happy with our choice to stay here. Good staff interactions and very helpful.

I am writing this review as an obnoxiously loud beach party is blaring in my room. It seems to me that pleasant stay and a good night sleep are not priorities here. Parking is a nightmare and you have to walk across the highway from-to the 2nd parking lot. I am worried about my safety, but that’s where available spots are. My key card only let me in after 10-15th swipe. The only positive thing about my stay is the room was refurbished. Other than that, it’s an old hotel. All in all, I cannot, in good faith, recommend this establishment to anyone hoping for a relaxing stay. I deeply regret my decision to give this establishment a try.

Hello, hotel is really nice and beautiful. Rooms are great and maintained every day very well. Recommend! But there was a situation that shocked and I am really disappointed. I went to breakfast made coffee and took some cupcakes and I wanted to bring all this to the conference hall. Administrator of the canteen saw and stopped me saying that I can't bring this with me, I asked him maybe I can bring this to the conference hall, hi told me no. No problem, I left. Then I thought why not to ask if they could pour coffee to disposable cups or sth. So I went back and asked and hi said to my: no, you have to pay. Okay. So I putted cupcakes to my hand and I went outside just with them. The manager saw that and caught me and told that I can't bring them with me. And them the conflict began. I told him that I want to eat them outside and hi said to my that if I want that I need to pay, because I can't bring food with me. I repeated again that I want my cupcakes eat outside and I am not bringing any plates from canteen with me but he still stood there saying that then I need to pay for them..I was trying at first normally explain that this is absurd and I paid for my breakfast and room why I have to pay for this. I just want my cupcakes eat outside that is it. And the whole situation became a big nonsense. I told him that if I bring them back to the inside he will have to throw them away and he said: yes, because of the people like you. After thees words I left the cupcakes and left the place. So be aware especially when you are going with kids and will want to bring cupcakes or sth like that with you to give them latter to a child. Sorry, but that is why I can't sincerely give all 5 stars.…

The hotel was renovated. So comfortable! Bed and pillows were all good😊. Staff were very low due to COVID-19. However, they were all high service mind and very happy to welcome guests. They were so energetic to learn that the hotel would almost be full house the following long holidays. Front Office team, especially the FO manager, were all supportive and helpful. Thumbs up for the hotel team!!! Thank you for such a good time😊😊 We were impressed by their energy, renovated property and hotel overall atmosphere. Food are also good!! We had good dinner there. I congratulate the hotel management to have staff with loyalty to hotel and trying to deliver their best even though there seemed to be very low in man power. Some of staff members are quite high in age but they were energetic and expressed high service mind as well as loyalty towards the hotel. Very hard to find! The reception staff and manager went out of their way to assist with our 4 night stay, Wan who was in the breakfast room greeted us daily with a beaming smile too :) . We will be back at some point in the future.

I have stayed here many, many times throughout the past 11 years and have always found management to be of a very high standard. A number of the rooms have been recently renovated and the resort is always maintained to the highest standard. Restaurant facilities however have gone backwards. After prepaying for breakfast I was surprised to be informed at check in that no buffet breakfast was available, instead guests are asked to fill out a form the night before . The form consists of few choices and guests are even asked as to what time they will be dining. The resulting breakfast in my case consisted of two small pieces of fruit, a small portion of eggs, a croisant and a slice of bread. Very poor serving.A la carte is not available. I was also surprised to see a blackboard notice outside the restaurant advising guests that if they wanted a seafood meal to order it the day before. In my opinion management needs to take a good hard look at themselves. They may be saving a few baht by these practises but they also risk losing loyal customers. The hotel has not canclled the breakfast buffet, with business levels are low we offer an all you can set menu. Following your comments we have stopped taing pre-orders and timings. For the benefit of the Tripadvsor community, after listening to our guests requests for fresh seafood we launched a wonderful initative " from sea to table" allowing us the opportunity to purchase fresh local seafood from the markets serving to our guests fres seafood thier way. Having a break in Rayong at the Novotel (again) - it is an old resort & has mature gardens and excellent pools and a good beach. We have visited several times during COVID & the property was looking tired and worn out, working with a skeleton staff (who were always lovely). After 6 months away we came back to find the hotel looking much sharper under the guidance of a new GM - the place is looking great! The team have looked after us very well, and we were relieved to see the old smiling faces again. The breakfast needs some upgrading as it is still a very limited selection (no bacon or decent sausages etc) and coffee is poor, also WiFi is a bit hot and miss - difficult to stream tv or to work effectively. I assume these shortcomings are due to lack of revenue during COVID but they are relatively minor issues to address & I am sure they’ll be upgraded now that Thailand is opening up again. Love this place for a relaxing break in the sun…
