We stayed here for three nights and had a spacious and comfortable room. Lorna made us very welcome and went out of her way to make our stay memorable. The food at dinner was first rate and much of it locally sourced. The oysters from Islay Oysters were particularly large and tasty and the venison pie filled us up after...

It would indeed need to be quite a long stay in order to sample all of the Islay Malts in the bar, but we hope that you will return on a regular basis and work your way through them. When our own venison and the local oysters are so good and fresh it makes it much easier to consistently produce...

A lovely hotel, good food and very friendly staff, very much looking forward to returning in a few weeks. Ample parking and well situated for visiting all of the island. The room was snug but that just added to the cosyness and was well decorated and very comfortable. All the little extras you'd expect in a good hotel.

We were encouraged to come here for dinner last night. Lorna treated us like old friends and we were cosy by the fire. The food was superb and I can't recommend it more. Would definitely come again. I recommend the salmon or the venison!

We booked this hotel after reading the reviews from Tripadvisor. I tend to read between the lines whilst on Tripadvisor as some people seem to go through life finding faults that don't really exist, so try to average out the various reviews. Well, here's my own. We booked this gem of a hotel for two nights for the first weekend...

A very special party was organised for my husbands 60th birthday. This was a surprise party and organizing it couldn't have been simpler with Lorna discretely arranging the food, decorations, drinks. Everything went like clockwork and the evening was a huge success. The waiting staff were attentive but unobtrusive, the menu was superb with delicious options, and the evening was...

Friendly service and good breakfast . No singleroom was available, and the double room was extremely small and only really suitable for one person. This room was very stuffy and was grossly overpriced.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry that the accommodation that we provided did not meet your expectations. I am surprised that you found your room stuffy as I believe that all of our rooms have functioning windows for ventilation and all the radiator thermostats are fully adjustable to achieve the desired temperature. If this was not the case...

Bridgend hotel is an absolutely charming establishment and the perfect base for anyone wishing to explore Islay and it's many distilleries. The wonderful barman gave us a few fascinating lessons and tips on the best whiskeys on offer and we enjoyed having a few drams in Katie's bar and the lovely, cosy lounge ajacent to the bar. The restaurant is...

We are 5 friends and stayed for 3 memorable days in this awesome hotel. Just about everything was perfect: the location right in the center of Islay, the rooms, the food and most of all the staff. You cannot beat innate friendliness and Lorna and her team mix it with professionalism. We will come back!!!

Getting just about everything perfect is high praise indeed - thank you. We are very lucky to have Lorna and her team. There is no question of their professionalism or of their innate friendliness, but looking after appreciative guests does, I know, make it much easier and enjoyable for them.
