I stayed here with my girlfriend for a week and had the most incredible time. Amazing staff, location and food. We were there over Thanksgiving and had a lovely meal with all the guests and staff. Family-style meals mean you get to know everyone really well, it's very social but with a super chilled out vibe. Stayed in the dorm... More

Stayed here for 5 nights a few weeks ago (October 2016) and it was a great. The staff was friendly, helpful, and responsive. We visited on the edge of rainy season so it was not very crowded but the other guests that we met were chill and affable. It's pretty easy to relax, eat the good food, swim in the... More

Rancho Esperanza offers you a relaxed stay with very hospitable staff looking after you. You can either enjoy relaxed surfing for beginners to intermediate or enjoy a tour through the beautiful estuary just taking a kayak tour through the mangrove forest or visiting the turtle hatching station. Overall the hosts are very helpful with tips for every purse and taste... More

It was an overall good experience at Rancho Esperanza, although there were some things that were far from being perfect. I was there in the quiet season and lots of people, maybe staff, that was hard to tell, hung around the Rancho all day, swinging in the hammocks, listening to music and I often felt uncomfortable being watched and observed... Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that you overall stay was average. I am currently on holiday and am disappointed to hear that you found our management to be unhelpful and lazy while I am away. I am normally proud of our staff for providing top notch service to our guests, but unfortunately this does not... More

I stayed in a private cabana and had a very relaxing week. The staff is very helpful and provides plenty of activities for you to do if you choose, or you can spend your days lounging around in a hammock catching some sun and reading. The surf is great although unpredictable. If you're looking for a place to chill out,... More

This is an economical beach front facility that caters mostly to surfers. It is rustic and with most of the cottages/huts you have shared eco friendly organic toilets with shared bath rooms. The cottages are simple with fans, electricity and mosquito nets. The common area is open and they have self serve ice cold drinks. The price is certainly right... More

This place is great for backpackers looking to chill and families too! We traveled to the Rancho in the end of June with our 14 year old son and we didn't want to leave. We loved the family style dinners where we could chat with other travelers and here about everyone's different travel stories and advice on things to do... More

Thought this place was fantastic! The owner, Nate, gave me one of the best surf lessons I have ever had. The waves were pretty huge the week I was there but I was able to ride the white wash and a couple smaller sets when they came through as a beginner. Great choice of boards in case you are wondering.... More

Very cool place that has a lot to offer: from fishing classes to good food. Slept very well in the dorm and I think it's a good thing they care about the environment, by using compost toilets for example. I like the people that stayed there very much. The only thing here, was that I had the feeling I had... More
