I had a fantastic stay here from February 7 through the 11th. The hotel accommodations we’re very nice, and service outstanding, and the service and restaurant is superb with regards to the quality of the food and the service. With being adjacent to picturesque Lake Atitlan, the location is stunning, and I enjoyed some incredible kayaking out on the lake. Many sites and shops in the town are also within easy walking distance. I look forward to returning again!

A truly beautiful hotel to stay in with well kept, sprawling gardens walking distance from the lake and the taxi boats. Rooms are a good size and clean, each with a little outside sitting area. The food is fine, nothing spectacular but good and diverse enough to accommodate anyone's preferences. Do not stay in the Annex, this is really just a building around a parking lot.

Toliman Overall disappointed. I chose Hotel Toliman as the last stop on our trip because it looked very peaceful online. We got a king room which was beautiful, however, it was right next to the busy road that is loud with people and traffic. On the other side of the room is the laundry service. We are so happy the women sound like they’re having fun but that room also created a lot of noise and was on the other side of the wall where we lay our heads to sleep. I am pregnant, so a lot of this trip we spent taking naps in our room. Napping was difficult at Hotel Toliman. The most disappointing aspect was the smoke smell entering the room from either the cracks between the front door and wall or through the fireplace. There was no flue, so I couldn’t close off the fireplace to prevent the smoke from coming in. Again, I’m pregnant, so that’s why it was bothering me so much. It’s a no smoking hotel so I’m not sure where someone was smoking. DON’T use the hotel’s private car service. We got a private car ride to the airport and the driver stopped at a mechanic before leaving town to fix something wrong with the tire. Made us worried for the three hour drive to the airport. The driver stopped again and another man switched places with him as our driver. Later on, we pulled over on a busy highway to put coolant in the car. Then again, we stopped at a gas station to have the attendant do some work on the car. There was no communication with us about this vehicle’s problems until we were already en route. The positives are the staff, restaurant, and pool. Beautiful grounds. I just wish it was clear on the website that the hotel is NOT secluded and is actually just smack dab in a busy, loud town. The website says “tranquillity and serenity” and I fell for that marketing. I’d recommend La Fortuna if you’re trying to have a peaceful experience at the lake.…

I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. I have stayed here year after year and Hotel Tolimán is truly my home away from home. The setting is like paradise with hummingbirds flitting about, beautiful views, fantastic food at the restaurant and lovely spacious rooms. However, the greatest part of this hotel is the staff who work here, they are all WONDERFUL people.

When you stay at Hotel Toliman in San Lucas Toliman you feel you become part of a new family. The waiters call you by name, even endearing names; the gardener, Jose Luis, shows you with pride but also humbleness, his amazing organic garden; the hotel manager, Chati, makes sure you have the most special experience, not only ensuring your accommodations are superb but also warmly greeting you at every encounter, giving you her full attention and 100% of her time anytime of the day, in spite of her likely busy schedule. My husband and I participated in a mosaic community project in town so we spent a whole week at the hotel. Today, when we were leaving Tolimán on our way back to Boston, in the US, we got from the hotel staff, gifts, we got beautiful letters, we got loving hugs, and we shared beautiful tears of gratefulness.…

Small hotel on lake Atitlan. The staff is absolutely amazing. They make you feel as family. The restaurant serves international food and its really very good. The view from the restaurant is beautiful. The restaurant features an organic vegetable garden that provides ingredients to its dishes.

We have traveled to Hotel Toliman before. It is a must for my 93 year old mother. The staff remembered our family. The hotel has beautiful gardens and orchard. Most of the produce is grown there, making the restaurant’s food fresh and delicious. The views of the lake are spectacular. You cannot avoid bird watching everywhere you go. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. The staff is helpful and very friendly. We will return!

This is an absolutely beautiful hotel. Nice, clean room, beautiful grounds and an awesome restaurant. We were there 3 nights and enjoyed every minute. The staff was extremely accommodating and views are beautiful. Breakfast every morning was enjoyed on a covered deck overlooking Lake Atitlan.

Came here for one night as a base for a day on the lake and it’s towns. Very helpful staff. Virtually everyone only speaks Spanish. We booked a double room with views of garden and mountain. We arrived at 9pm so was showed our room by the security guard. Room and beds were nice but the toilet flush ran with water all night and dogs were barking in the road right next to our bedroom, so bring your earplugs or ask for a room away from the road! Break fast was wonderful with traditional food and coffee while the view and the garden are the ‘jewel in the crown’ - absolutely stunning, with hummingbirds joining you on the veranda. Facilities were clean and the cost is very reasonable. I would give it 5 stars apart from the toilet flush and dogs keeping us awake at night….

Incredible hotel and staff! The most beautiful hotel facilities and rooms decorated in Antigua style. The food was delicious with many great options - I recommend any of their soups! Restaurant patio with a breathtaking view over Lake Atitlan. I really appreciated their sustainable considerations, including solar panels and local organic garden. A beautiful pool and grassed area to enjoy during the day, as well as garden to enjoy and explore. Extremely recommended!
