We have stayed at many other Riu hotels and the Riu Buenavista is up there with the best! From the moment we arrived till the moment we left, we had nothing but fantastic things to say about this stunning hotel. The staff on reception greeted us with enthusiasm and were so helpful and polite, they made us feel very welcome immediately. The bell boy took our cases to our room and again he was very friendly and delighted in showing us our wonderful room number 165 which I fell in love with. From the space, modern decor, comfortable beds, amazing pillows, lots of storage and then there was the huge balcony and ooooh that view!!!! I have never taken so many balcony pictures, it was stunning, from morning till night but those sunsets were just something else!!! Some of the best that I have ever seen. When I could be pulled away from my room, the rest of the hotel was also so pleasing. Lovely and modern with lots of different areas to sit, drink, swim or just relax. We loved the quiet little suntrap over the bottom bar near the sea, again the views were amazing. The whole of the hotel is so clean and the staff work so hard to keep it that way. It was also good to see that everyone adheres to Covid rules and keeping each other safe. We were a little apprehensive about the location after reading other reviews but we absolutely loved it. There was a lovely little shopping mall 2 minutes walk up the hill outside the front of the hotel. Outside the back gate you could follow the walkway to the left or right and you come to a few shops, supermarkets and bars in either direction, although going right is a little bit of a longer walk but saying that, probably only about 15 mins and there was a nice little beach there. We loved the location it was scenic, quiet but amenities are easily accessible if wanted. Whenever we go all inclusive we still like to have an occasional meal out but the food was so good here that we didn't want to! Lots of variety, the salad bar was so good with tuna, prawns, pasta and hot food was also fantastic, paella, fish, pork, chicken etc. We were there a week and had something different every day at all mealtimes, again staff in the dining rooms were so pleasant and work so hard. There was such a good entertainment programme throughout the day and evening and we really enjoyed the shows. My only complaint was because it was a little chilly in the evening we couldn't always stay to watch but that is probably my own fault for not packing warmer evening clothes. Another bit of advice I would give is to download the Riu app. We used it to book the Asian and grill restaurants, which were both very good. We used it to check the entertainment and we also used it to request blankets for our room. It worked very efficiently and our requests were always dealt with. I don't think there is much more to say than if you want a relaxed holiday, in a beautiful scenic, clean, safe environment surrounded by friendly helpful staff, then definitely get this booked but please leave my room empty for my next stay!!!

Hotel's Favourite
Beautiful adults-only hotel, perfect! Being someone who enjoys a nice, relaxing, peaceful time on holiday, the adults-only nature of this hotel is very attractive to me. No screaming bairns! Now, I'm not against bairns having a good time on holiday, but I do prefer something more relaxing. When I stayed back in 2017 I had a top-floor room, beautiful view from the balcony over the mountains, whilst the outdoor corridor outside the front door had an amazing view over the pools, the shore-side restaurant and path, over the sea to La Gomera, we were high enough that all views from our room were amazing. I would certainly try to book top-floor if convenient for you, it is really worth it! The two pools are nice and the all-inclusive nature means you can spend your days drinking ale and shorts in the sun, lovely! I felt awful one day from drinking quadruple Whiskies the night before, ha ha! The food was very nice as well, in a nice, big dining room with large windows. As with other hotels of the chain, there were themed meal evenings (i.e. Fish one evening, Chinese the next etc) A number of activities are available including archery. Coach trips are laid on, the Mount Teide trip is highly worth it, you are taken into the mountains and a cable car takes you to near the summit of Teide, the tallest peak in Europe, amazing experience! (Be aware, the height of the summit makes it harder to breath, due to the thin air, so those with asthma may not be allowed to go up there. Sturdy shoes are also recommend, I wore cheapy trainers, and the sharp rocks literally slashed the rubber soles to pieces.) Playa Paraíso is a little out of the way, but there is a bus which goes to Playa de Las Americas if you fancy hitting a few bars. I recommend exploring the small town near the hotel. I long to return to this hotel! I went around May 2017, but Tripadvisor won't let me go back that far, so I've had to say April 2020.

Immaculately clean hotel which strictly adhered to covid guidelines making you feel safe. All staff seemed to enjoy their jobs and were friendly and cheerful. Views from the hotel and sunsets were amazing. Excellent facilities for all ages. Entertainment on a night was good. Plenty food and drink to chose from which was good quality. Hotel was full when we were there but we never had a problem getting a sun lounger at any time of day despite the usual bods that like to put towels out as soon as the terraces open. A few bars, restaurants and shops in walking distance but not a bustling resort as nearby Costa Adeje which was just 12€ in a taxi. We also got a taxi to Los Christianos for 20€. There’s also a bus stop just up from the hotel that would take you there for a couple euros. Location didn’t bother us as preferred a quieter one due to covid rates at home and preferred to feel safe. Overall had really enjoyed our 10 nights there and hopefully will get the chance to return one day. Would recommend especially if your not looking for wild night life.

We booked the hotel with the aim to relax and recharge. The hotel mostly delivered on this; all inclusive food (we managed to book the restaurants for dinner) , relaxed in the adult areas and the location was great for walks. Some things to know before coming: We could only get two devices for internet . You can’t deregister a device to switch to another. There 3 English Channel : sky news, pick & pick+ ,constant programmes about crimes & killers - these are not exactly relaxing TV & can be quite triggering. You can’t link your tv, tablet to the TV. There isn’t any shops in the hotel, however the Rosa Centre is just 5 minutes max. I would recommend any juice or snacks to get them there and leave it in your room. There isn’t great snacks. The hotel looked new and fresh , staff was great but it is missing some substance and is quite basic for a riu. Some minor developments would add an impactful value to the customer experience .
