We spent one night in the Chateau traveling from Paris to Normandy. There were two couples. We were given rooms next to each other. Both were very spacious and comfortable with outdoor patios. The owners were very hospitable and we enjoyed learning about their beautiful family home. They treated us to some local cider before we left for dinner. The...

A Grand Old Lady is Chateau de Madeleine - set in park like grounds over looking the Seine and Hills surroundingVernon. An idyllic position, yet right next door to Vernon, Giverny (Monet's Garden/Museum) and La Roche- Guyon So much history here in this beautiful chateau as far back as the 1100's. Staying here gives you a taste of what it...

The owners love their home, clearly and passionately. There will always be much work that remains on grounds this vast. The immensity and challenges for 2 people running/owning it is awesome. The original architecture is indeed stunning and easily appreciated, as is the location of the property. The views over the river and the grounds are lovely and peaceful. Some...

We always dream of buying an old home and restoring it. We did this many years ago on an island in Greece so have an idea of the path these renovations can take. This allowed us to appreciate the work that Paul and Marie have been done on this unique chateau. The mosaic floor in their breakfast area, the beautiful...

10 minutes drive from Monet's Garden at Giverny. Its a lovely old chateau. Some renovations still to be done but still a great experience. Excellent breakfast looking down to The Seine across the woods. Welcoming hosts.

Found this Chateau by chance when looking for somewhere to stay when visiting Monet's Gardens at Giverny. Amazing building with rooms overlooking the River Seine. Family in the process of renovating the building. Very large, comfortable bedroom. Bathroom had door leading to upstairs patio which we were not able to use as it was wet! Continental breakfast was good with...

My husband and I stayed at the Chateau for two nights with our teenage daughter and my elderly mother. Everyone loved the place and found the hosts, Marie and Paul to be very welcoming, kind and helpful, They clearly love the house and are happy to share their enthusiasm and details of the building's history with visitors. This is a...

The château is a little shabby chic but that just adds character to a wonderfully historic and beautiful building. The owners, Paul and Marie, couldn't have been more welcoming and friendly. When we arrived on our first day we brought our own food, they kindly set up a table in the dining room with a view of the Seine, put...

My husband and I were traveling with our son and his fiancé. It was our first time in France, and we wanted to experience some of the French countryside and to interact a bit with local people in a way wouldn't be able to in a traditional chain hotel. The Chateau was beautiful. The setting is just gorgeous, and we...

Positives: old chateau with large gardens and a beautiful outlook/view especially at sunset, located a short drive from giverny (Monets Garden), huge bedroom, large shower with great water pressure, short walk to Seine River, ample parking, baby friendly (cot and highchair provided, although main stair case certainly is not!), very good breakfast included. Negatives: could do with better upkeep, mould...
