The staff is great! Some features of the accommodations are a bit vintage, but you can't beat the price and location. It's located near High Point State Park right off the highway, but we didn't notice much noise. Open skies for stargazing. They are under new ownership and are undergoing some remodeling, but it wasn't an inconvenience. They have outdoor charcoal grills and a firepit out front. Food delivery is available from nearby Up the Creek Cafe.

I spent a week there and highly recommend it to anyone. The room was basic, but CLEAN. The mattress was firm, the pillows fluffy. Linens were new, towels soft and thick. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. It’s now my place to stay when I’m in Sussex.

Pleasantly surprised with this diamond in the rough. Rooms were very clean and cared for. Great personal service and friendliness of the staff. My grandchildren called it warm and cozy. Well located from nearby family party. Easy to find and convenient.

One of the worst experiences of my life. My uncle had passed away and was being waked at a local funeral home. I called the funeral home to ask if they could reccomend a hotel closest to them, church and cemetery as my siblings and our spouses were all coming from out of town and did not know the area. The person at the funeral home said the High Point Country Inn was right down the block. I checked out their crappy website which was raised red flags right there, it gets worse...looking back I laugh when they state on their website "free continental breakfast" which consisted of a cereal bar and juice box!!!! Anyone who has been through a beloved family death knows how emotionally and physically draining a funeral can be. All my family and I wanted was clean place to sleep and take a shower. There were about 8 of us including my elderly mother. We checked in right after the wake ended around 10pm and we all had to get up early for the burial. The young girl/owner was not nice at all, she was dirty looking and the lobby of this hellhole was filled w/ broken toys and there was crying, dirty baby in a playpen. Rooms were disgusting, used furniture, mildewy smell, bugs, you name it. To add insult to injury the owner called my sister as we were on the way to the funeral and said he is charging $200 penalty fee because someone was smoking in the room! I am the smoker in the family, however I was not smoking in the room, plus my sister is highly allergic. I smoked outside the room and stamped the cig. out and thought I was being courteous and picked it up, as not to litter and put it in waste basket in room! This white trash couple smelled money as we all had nice cars and were dressed up for the funeral and tried to get a little more money out of us. No one smoked in the room.

I booked this inn because it was so close to the High Point State Park. I would never EVER STAY THERE AGAIN! This place looks nice on the outside when ur pulling up, but as for the rooms, were talking something out of a horrow movie. Spiders in the room everywhere (killed 7 before my 2 day stay was up), bedding was something from a garage sale from the 1940's, so was the furniture and towels. The weather was in the 90's and the pool looked as if it had not been opned in years. This inn is also near NOTHING, you need to drive to town (Colesville to the south or Port Jervis to the north) just to get a cup of coffee or anything. There is nothing in walking distance you are in the boon docks. I hated this place would never recommend it to anyone and can't belive it is AAA approved, im writing to them next. Maybe it was AAA approved back in the 60's, but as for year 2010, I don't think AAA has made a visit there. STAY AWAY or just sleep in ur car. This plac e is in the middle of nowhere and the 2 towns it contects are not much either. Restaurants (about 4 of them) all close around 8 pm, there is nothing to do once the sun goes down.

Tried to make a reservation using their email. No reply. Called and played phone tag several times. Made reservation and we were told she did not have time to answer email. Called later to add a day to the reservation. Played phone tag several times. Talked to individual and made change to reservation. We showed up after a 12 hour drive to be told there was no reservation and no room made up. This is a small motel in a rural area. The woman wasn't too coherent and finally her husband came. There was an infant in what was supposed to be the motel lobby. Obviously they were using this as part of their lving area. There was a picnic table on the patio which was to be used for registration. She was smoking and put the cigarette down in front of me. The husband cleaned and made up the room. The furniture was flea market finds with lots of furniture stuck here and there. We stayed one night and left for the Comfort Inn in Port Jervis for $2.00 less per night. Nice, quiet location - has wonderful potential.

The people here were as friendly as friendly could be. It was like I was with extended family the entire time I was there. The senery is breath taking and it's peaceful. I would definitely stay here again. The staff is very caring and it shows by the way they take care of their guests.

I recently spent a night at the high point country inn. It was the worst hotel experience I can remember in the last 30 years. If we did not have a cat and it was not already 5PM when we got there, after seeing (and smelling) the room, we would have looked elsewhere . We were in room 10; it smelled strongly of mildew. The fan and the air conditioner fan could not remove the odor. If you stay there, avoid room 10. On the bright side, it does provide a quiet room, clean bed and clean toilet and it does have a microwave, small refrigerator and a flat panel TV and wifi. It however has very few normal hotel amenities. It hasn't a clock, a radio, a telephone, cups of any kind, easily accessible electrical fixtures (perhaps to charge the computer), clothes hangars, ice chest, iron, coffee maker and tissues. It also does not have a place to put soap or shampoo in the shower; also the TV choices are, at most, basic local service. The closest good restaurants are about 6 miles away in Sussex NJ. I went to the "home cooking" restaurant about 1 mile away. It was mediocre and I wouldn't go back there either. There is some peeling paint in the bathroom and the door was missing some of its laminations. It is simply a run down 50's hotel.

While working in Sussex, NJ, someone local told me about High Point Country Inn. It was dark and it was late before I got there. I was immediately treated like family. I was pleasantly surprised by the earthy feel of my room and it actually smelled good in there! The room was spotless. I had all the things I was hoping for...great big tv with crystal clear picture, microwave, refrigerator, and the high speed internet worked flawlessly. I woke up the first morning feeling very refreshed and had slept well on the firm mattress. I made myself a cup of coffee and opened the door to check the weather. The sun was rising over the mountains and the view was breathtaking! The grounds were very well kept. It was quiet and easy to unwind after work each day. I cannot wait to come back and stay here in the summertime, but this time I want to bring my family and my guitar. I highly recommend this hotel. Great value and a very good place with good people.

Apologies for the late reply... just saw this! I'm not certain on your question, however the staff was very accommodating, I'm certain a quick call would answer any concerns.
