Visited muscat for a weekend and stayed here. Breakfast is average, continental and some indian food. Location was walking distance to the grand mosque, and nearby shops and food stalls. Room was huge !

I was there with wife and kids. Took 2 bed room apartment. It is clean however it was noisy a bit . The rooms are 201 and 203. It was for 60 OMR although when i called a week before the check in , one of the staff promised me for 50. The attitude of some of the staff was not Ok, i was taking my luggage out toward the car and shouted at me that he needs the payment! I told him me not to worry i was coming back! Also, we were shocked that although there is a kitchen , there is no cook at all. I had a baby less than 2 years and needed to cook for her certain food. The reason we needed a place in that area , my wife got a workshop in royal hospital and i wanted her to be close. Breakfast was not that various. Beans , omelt and juice

The hotel was under Austrian group management and was sold out , the reception is very decent with good parking just in front of the hotel. Walking distance to the Grand Mosque and decent rooms for the price.

We are on a road trip from UAE, we were exhausted and we needed 2 nights but took 1..we happened to pass by at 10 pm, we took the suite at this hotel, we are 3 adults, the room caters for 2 and we asked if we could have a bed for the third person and we were told it's free and possible, we were also pleased to hear free in room wifi.. After paying we were upset there wasn't complimentary breakfast to the room, we went up to the room, the rooms look neat, spacious and weren't very clean the dining chairs had some dry food on them, the sofas look dusty. The bathroom had a used very thin toilet roll which was hardly enough for 2-3 uses. Lotions look refilled to half full. It had only and exactly 2 towels. We were hungry, so I asked the reception if there were any restaurants that deliver, they weren't helpful, we left the hotel to get some food. The receptionists never smiled. We had some left over food, the kitchen had nothing but a counter a fridge and a sink.. Nothing to use to reheat our food. No kitchen cookware or dishes either. By 12:00 am we decided it's time to sleep, we call the reception, not for the free extra bed we were told we were going to get, but just for a blanket and a pillow, the third person decided to sleep on the sofa, the receptionist said they'd charge for each extra blanket and pillow! We refused Now it's 12:30 am and I'm writing this review.. I'm very unhappy with this hotel.. I almost forgot, the wifi disconnects VERY often and is annoying. Anyways, this review is based on a 2 hours 30 mins experience in this hotel.

Reading all the reviews on this place, I decided to opt for it. It was a huge mistake. The hotel is not maintained and in way what so ever. Everything squeaks. I booked an executive room which is equal to a standard room. Furniture was all burnt with cigarette, room was horribly hot & best of all I found dead cockroaches on the bed. Food was horrendous. I checked out an hour later and informed the reason of check out to the reception & they did nothing about it. The reception guy was just quite. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

The boutique hotel truly encapsulates its name 'Treasure Box" it used to known before with its subtle blend of Arabian Nights classic oriental style and indispensable luxuries you would expect to find in a high class international hotel,It offers sophistication and refinement at its best,The management having changed with a devoted team work to the highest standards, guaranteeing a friendly welcome and memorable stay. The hotel is perfectly situated in the vibrant centre of Muscat, the capital of Oman-often referred to as the "Pearl of Arabia"The famous Sultan Qaaboos Grand Mosque and the Muscat Hill golf course with its stunning backdrop of rolling hiss are all close by. Although , just far enough to escape the hectic metropolis, the hotel is only ten minutes away from downtown Muscat and the Muscat International Airport, a major advantage of business travelers and visitors wanting to take the sites of the city, without the hustle and bustle,Different kinds of rooms are available . Rooms are fully sound proof.strive to make the stay unforgettable and in the legendary world of Arabian Nights memories with its Classic and spacious decorations, .The room which I stayed was Pent House club Suite is exclusively furnished more than the value . The Wi-Fi modern room with all felicities..of marble wall and dark furniture is very classic. The interior decoration of colonial style lobby along with lot of parking felicities are added benefit..

A frequent traveller to Oman, I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Johny Hotel. Formerly ‘The TreasureBox’ the hotel has recently undergone extensive renovations. I chose this hotel for several reasons: a) I was only staying in Muscat overnight; my flight arrival was late; I had an early start next morning b) I had friends joining me, flying in at midnight c) Johny Hotel is only about ten minutes from the airport and is reasonably priced I found the room tastefully furnished in muted colours, the bed very comfortable with sumptuous bed linen, and free wifi; my room also had a kitchenette. The en-suite was spacious and well-appointed, the shower had great water pressure with plenty of hot water and toiletries provided. Standard buffet breakfast with a reasonable selection of choices is included in the accommodation cost; the breakfast chef was extremely amenable, preparing for me a fresh fruit salad and omelette at my request. All staff that I had contact with were polite, helpful and efficient. Johny Hotel is situated in the quiet residential area of Al Ghubra and has plenty of parking facilities. The Grand Mosque is just a short walk away as is the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex. A reasonable hotel for a short stay.

Basic, yet effective. The rooms are large, the building site next door was interesting. The breakfast was simple, if you like Yoghurt you should be ok! I am told its now under new management so it could be a lot different now. We called it the Tissue Box

It ticks all the boxes for the grading system, though most of the amenities are kind of bolted on rather than designed in. Was my place of choice sme years ago but then changed hands in 2011 and sort of didn't change. Prices affordable, never managed breakfast and well placed for a quick drive anywhere else.
