I fell in love with Casa Loma the moment I made it up the hill. This is a very special place. There is amazing vegetarian food (even as a meat addict I was in heaven). The atmosphere is unbelievable. The whole no-wifi thing really gets everyone chatting, playing cards and generally being humans. The staff are all absolutely lovely, always...

Stunning hostel with the best view of the sun setting over the mountains. Stayed in a private treehouse that is simple but complements the surroundings amazingly. Mosquito net to rid the crawlies during the night. Only spent one night here but would love to go back for longer. Spent the night with a beer watching the sun go down and...

This is a superb place to add to your Colombian travel plans. Once you overcome the steep and seemingly endless steps, you'll appreciate the effort it took to climb as you enjoy a cold beer with the stunning views. The main space is a really cool and relaxing hammock filled common area, perfect for reading. The food was delicious, all...

Great hostel with nice private tree houses. If you don't like spiders or animals though, there is only a big mosquito net for the bed... The way up to the hostel is extremely tough with luggage. You can only handle it with a backpack. There are about 260 stairs to climb. You have a great view over minca and Santa...

A great place to stay in the lovely town of minca. Situated up the hill, a small walk up the steeeep steps. We were greeted with a glass of cold water. We had booked the dorm "Casa Lukas" by memory, and had a great tree house feel to it. Great open air dorm with mosquito nets. Slept very soundly and...

Minca is a beautiful mountain village and this is the perfect hostel to stay at. There is a lot of steps to get up to the hostel from town (no way for cars to get there) but the view from the hostel is amazing, especially the sunsets. It had a great vibe to it. Very nice people that work there....

It's a treehouse!!! Well, a bunch of treehouses. I travelled in South America for a month (which is extremely short, I know) and casa loma was easily my favorite hostel. The staff was incredible, the doggies were snuggly, and the sunset was BREATHTAKING. Go to Minca. Stay in casa loma.

We climbed the steep stairs up the side of mountain to find Casa Loma. It is a very tough climb with your packs but WELL WORTH IT. After catching our breaths we turned around to see a beautiful view of Santa Marta lit up at night and the ocean behind it. First night we ate vegetarian lasagna (I am not...

From the center of tiny Minca, Casa Loma is a short but steep walk. Reaching the top of the stairs, you reach the main hut/building which houses the restaurant, main common space, resting area and attached hammock area. Around the back and also up a final set of steps are private huts of various sizes and niceness and another group...
