We spent a few days in Pochomil and found Casa Larocque very easy to stay at. Luke is a great host. He speaks English and his wife Margarita does as well. THey make good food and are very accommodating. If you stay there, go to the little fishing village down from them. the have traditional nica fish dishes, very good.... More

Was flying into Nicaragua for a month long vacation and wanted to a couple of beach days before we moved to central Nica. Great spot real close to the beach run by Luc and Margarita. Luc is from Quebec so he speaks French English and Spanish. My Spanish is very limited so its wonderful to be able to have a... More

After reading the reviews on here and talking with Luc via the phone my husband and I decided to stay at Casa Larocque for a weekend away from the city (we are currently living in Chinandega, Nicaragua). When we arrived we were warmly greeted by Luc and Margarita and settled into our beautiful room with clean linens, a TV, a... More

Second stay at Casa Larocque, May 2012 and April 2013. Luc and Margarita offer the best in the area, 50 ms from the beach, very comfortable sleeps, and extremely clean rooms with AC, ceiling fans, TV. Nice swimming pool without forgetting a great bar. The best part is that this Hotelito is that it is run and managed with attention... More

We were informed our prepaid reservation at Hotel Vistamar meant nothing and the front desk actually laughed in our faces at our misfortune. Luckily we were able to get them to walk us over to Casa Larocque. Luc the owner/manager heard our plight and took us in and gave us a reasonable rate considering it is the busiest time of... More

My husband and I just stayed two nights at Larocque. We are regulars in Nicaragua as our son lives here, so we have stayed in many places over the years. We loved the ambiance of Lucas and Marguerite's hotelito just 50 m from the beach. It was impeccably clean, rooms and lounge areas by pool and upstairs hammock balcony. But... More

My wife, Emily, and I stayed with Luke a couple years ago. We had no reservations, got dropped off on some gravel road and ran into this hidden gem. Beautiful pool was our first site and then the rooms were vey spacious, clean, and very quite. Luke "el Hefe" took us under his wing and took us to his local... More

Great accomodations in a very private and secure location just an hour away from Managua and just minutes from the best beach in the area! Great food at very reasonable prices for a beach resort location.

The food was great, the dog is sweet, and Luc is a really nice guy. The rooms were well appointed, with very nice linens, and nice but uncommon touches like drinking water for brushing teeth provided (drinking water beyond that you pay for, but they sell it cheap and cold). The whole place had been done with a nice eye... More

Food was fantastic, luc was a great host. Place was dusty ( avoidable ?), and pool was dirty. We were a bit annoyed as we had emailed and requested a price INCLUDING all taxes and service charges. When the bill arrived there was an additional 25% on top of the $75 room charge which was not ok. Our amicable host... More
