Beautiful location on lake off Orta, only a short drive from Orta San Guilio. Friendly service, good food. We dined in the restaurant for dinner one evening. The salad was not very exciting, manly lettuce and a few figs. But the main courses were excellent, and service very attentive and friendly. Breakfast Buffet was ok, not lavishing but ok. Would definitely return for a visit.
Lovely room looking across the lake and staff were great, food was brilliant everything was lovely would stay again if traveling that way. Only negative when purchasing items instead of giving room number person should sigh receipt to save confusion when paying bill we were charged for items we did not purchased.
The Hotel Giardinetto is long established and family run. the service, staff, food and outlook were all excellent. i can't praise it enough and can recommend it strongly. We were able to take the lake ferry boat to other towns which made out stay more interesting. Out room overlooked the lake which gave us a wonderful view of the mountains and we joyed just sitting n the balcony watching the ducks and fishing boats.
Lovely friendly hotel with large menu and very good food at reasonable prices. We ate lunch and dinner on the outside terrace with beautiful lake views. Our peaceful lakeside room had a balcony and was quieter than rooms facing the road, I imagine. I used the pool and swam from the jetty in the lake. It's very easy and cheap to get the public ferry from right outside the hotel to the lovely old town of Orta San Guilia and to the island in the lake. Overall, we had a lovely couple of days here and would definitely return.
Simply our favourite place on this earth. Restaurant is stunning, with impeccable service and amazing put together menu. Tasting menus as well with pairing wines makes a fun evening. The cheese trolley also makes my husband happy. Views. Boat stop right there. Rooftop bar amazing (closed on Wednesdays) Love our stays
❤Tradition, hospitality, view, delicious food and wines, lake, private beach, close to Milan and Turin, and outlets.. I stayed 2 times at Hotel Giardinetto.. If I have chance ı am sure that it will be 3rd,4th.. I think Lake Orta and Hotel Giardinetto are secret places in İtaly..❤
Spent 7 nights at the hotel. Arrived late due to a flight delay initial room over the restaurant and noisy with a limited view of the lake. Asked to change room and was given a much quieter room with a lovely lake view. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Breakfast has some variety but continental so no tomatoes, or mushrooms so heavily reliant on egg and cheese ( not sure how you would manage if you want a plant-based diet !). The hotel is remote and there are no taxis, we asked for a taxi to Orta and was quoted 50 euro return and it is only 3 miles away. You cannot walk due to busy roads so the only other this is by the scheduled boats which are only twice a day ( 0ne at 9.30 am other at 2.45 pm) and the return is 6 pm. Therefore would recommend hiring a car. Also, the hotel was busy with weddings on both weekends. On the whole, a lovely hotel and an excellent restaurant with amazing views over lake Orta.…
This is a lovely hotel located about 10 minute drive from the historic centre of San Guilio. It is a well-run, family hotel with superb facilities. We had a room with a balcony overhanging the lake & everything about it was superb. Some really nice touches too – for example, a ‘beach bag’ in the room kitted out with beach towels, free bottles of water on arrival & the fridge was left empty for you to put in your own wine, water etc. You can also order any extra drinks which are brought up to the room. There's a superb roof top bar & also a lunchtime restaurant area on a terrace overlooking the lake. The formal dining room (evening restaurant) offered excellent quality food & a more ‘a la carte’ experience. There is a good sized pool too, although in August most people tended to swim in the lake itself from the ‘beach area’. The historic centre of Orta San Giulio pretty busy with tourists so we enjoyed being 1 short drive away as it was lovely and quiet and relaxed Would definitely recommend this hotel for a relaxing stay on Lake Orta.…
This hotel has a beautiful spot on the lake, great facilities, warm and helpful staff, and a ver good restaurant right on the lake. In addition the restaurant had safe gluten free options for one family member with celiac disease. The breakfast buffet had many tasty options and also offered lakeside dining. We enjoyed a kayak ride on the lake and appreciated kayaks being available at the hotel. It was a delightful stay.
As a returning client I really enjoy this special place. It is right at the lake and the rooms are nice and the food excellent. The family business appreciate their customers. We were offered a ride to the bus stop since the train wasn’t running. So nice. This time I chose to stay for my bday. I was a little disappointed since the hotel did not offer a little surprise: like a dessert or a glass of champagne. The other things which I like to mention was that the server from the Michelin star restaurant pet a dog from a guest and did not wash her hands before returning to work. I cannot accept this behavior form a Michelin Star Restaurant! Hygiene is priority.
