The lakefront location is lovely. We swam in the lake in preference to the pool. Mind you, we not able to enter the pool because we did not have bathing caps. Be aware of this rule if you intend to use the pool. We had a triple room, with a mezzanine and balcony. It was just big enough, but difficult once the sofa bed was opened. The sofa bed was comfortable. The mezzanine seemed a little flimsy, and the floor dipped in one part. The decor was odd and dated. The shower was, frankly, hilarious, with choices of light colour and different sprays. I giggled every time I was in there. The bathroom was functional. For a triple room it might have been nice to have three seats on the balcony, but the outlook was nice. We were there for a wedding and wanted to iron our outfits. There was no iron in the room so we asked at reception, and they... refused. We were not allowed to iron our own clothes because it was a safety issue. I mean, we have been ironing our clothes for decades and have not managed to cause a fire. But no, we had to give our clothes to the staff to iron. No only did we have to pay for this 'service', we had to follow up to get the clothes back in time. On this basis alone, I would not recommend this hotel. Because the hotel takes in big tour groups it has set rules that impact all guests. Breakfast is too busy, and you cannot order eggs (for example) unless you do so for everyone at your table. But these are huge tables that you may need to share with strangers, so this does not make any sense. And good luck if you can get a barista coffee. They are good, but the queue is looong. We ate at the restaurant one night. It is very pretty and the service was excellent. It is definitely expensive though. This is a stunning part of Italy. The location makes the Approdo a nice option, and it is perhaps a little cheaper than some of its neighbours, but it would be worth weighing that up against the rules and the inconveniences of this hotel.…
We stayed here for one week on our tour and I would like to say a big thank you! The staff were efficient, helpful, professional and accommodating. The rooms were spacious and tastefully decorated with amazing lake views. All round an ideal hotel for our our group and I will look forward to returning. Molto grazie Kimberley
Spent a week at the Hotel on a HB basis. The Hotel setting on the shore of Lake Orta is ideal and the views from the pool and restaurant are fantastic. The Hotel is exceptionally clean, all the staff are friendly and welcoming. The set menus for the Group varied and it depended on the choice available which was rather limited - some evenings could not be faulted and others were not so good and service could be slow at times. Breakfast was great with plenty of choice. The room which I had (102) had all the facilities you could wish, was spacious and clean, but had absolutely no view at all except for the passage to the restaurant through a window at the side so avoid if you can.
in a beautiful location, right on the edge of the lake. Lovely room, but very cold as the heating was 'hit and miss' my tour manager had to report the problem twice. No instructions on how to switch the heating on, otherwise I could have solved the problem myself. Tea and coffee making facilities were not good! First day OK, but once the tea and coffee were used, there were no further sachets and also no milk, that aspect was very poor The food was OK, but only OK. The staff were great and worked hard. I failed to understand why dogs were allowed in the dining room and were constantly barking.
This is a hotel and restaurant review. Nice spot on the lakes edge Hotel is spotlessly clean, although a 4 star hotel as a well travelled traveller I question that. Rooms somewhat odd. Steps, step down to the balcony, bathroom can be big or small, my towel radiator couldn't be turned on. No instructions for anything, when I needed reception I had to walk down. Tea and coffee sachets are not replenished daily. Dogs in rooms barking all hours, yes dogs! Food was somewhat hit and miss. Staff first class but reception staff can be sharp
A little outdated but well maintained. The rooms are large and spacious, perhaps a little more work could be done on the comfort of the beds, which are however very large. The staff is very nice and friendly, the breakfast is abundant and complete. Parking is convenient. Really nice pool area overlooking the lake, very large and spacious for swimming and enjoying the sun. The hotel is located 2 km from Orta San Giulio, not passable on foot, but only by car because the only connection is the highway. Alternatively, during the day there are two boats that connect the hotel's marina with the town centre. I recommend the hotel restaurant which is very good.
very unloving ambiance. The staff is not very friendly (except for the reception). The room was very small, and I have never seen a smaller TV in a hotel room, see picture. In the corridors the paint is peeling off the walls. The breakfast is also under average. When asked if I could have an egg, the answer was: "the kitchen is still closed". Do not go to this hotel.
The hotel is quite nice, although its an old building with not much renovation inside. Our room was quite nice with a comfortable bed. The bad side was the view, facing the internal yard and the street. Not very nice for a 4 star as there was no privacy, and people could see us inside the room. The staff is okay, not exceptionally friendly but overall nice. The swimming pool I think its the best part, well kept and clean. The inconvenience is the mandatory swimming cup to wear once you are in the water, come on...on a holiday in 2020 who uses that? that should be removed. The Breakfast is nice, but not many choices available, simple and basic I would say. I recommend this hotel , but make sure to take a room with lake view.
The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and very helpful. My room was a good size with lovely toiletries, a bottle of water and little sweeties. I paid extra for a lake view, which we well worth it, especially as my balcony got the sun in the afternoon and early evening. Tea, coffee and milk was available for use in bedrooms which had kettle and cups. My stay was with a group of around 27 Titan travellers. Breakfast was largely continental, but more than adequate with plenty of choice. The group's menu for dinner was quite limited, but there was delicious fish every night and all the food was fresh and well cooked. The surrounding area was beautiful. Orta town could be reached by boat or taxi and there were pleasant walks around the lake. The only downside was the fact there was nowhere to walk to in the evening after dinner. All in all a lovely hotel!…
This relatively modern hotel is well located on the shore of Lake Orta. Our room was on the lower ground floor which opened out to a sizeable terrace facing the lake. The room was larger than average for this class of hotel; it was spacious, furnished in a simple modern style, equipped with a fridge, the double bed was large with spotless linen. We were staying with a group which sometime means that meals are restricted but we found that dinner and breakfast offered a good variety. One evening there was an enjoyable meal of Piedmont specialities. Bar and restaurant service was efficient; staff were friendly and helpful. The lakeside grounds are spacious with a welcome swimming pool. Altogether a comfortable and welcoming hotel which we’d happily stay in again.
