We had booked our stay at vestila resort, but we were shifted to highland lodge without prior information(as vestila was closed for renovation). The rooms can no way be compared to vestila. Pros: 1. The reception was great, fast check in, very kind and friendly. 2. The loby has nice decor and good view of the mountains. 3. Rooms with...

We were offered a 2 bedroom apartment after our Vestlia Resort room became unavailable due to maintenance work. The staff were friendly and helpful and the apartment roomy and comfortable with a great view of the mountain and ski slopes. As there was no restaurant we were given an excellent recommendation for eating which we enjoyed very much. There is...

Went to Geilo to go cross country skiing for two nights. Booked Highland because it is in the centre of Geilo and was looking forward to take a swim and have a sauna after skiing. But the swimming pool and sauna was closed. We would not have booked this hotel if we had known - very disappointed.

I loved the hotel style and the staff was super friendly and helpful. It was low season so extremely quiet and perfect to reload my batteries. Also they have an amazing and beautiful library. On the low side TV channels were not good quality and sauna wasn't warmed during the indicated time. Lastly I missed in the room a short...

Yummy meal of Norweigian 'tapas'!!! Something for everyone. Best meal of the trip. Stayed one night to break a train journey. Not alot to do there though out of the ski season, but worth it just for the meal. The manager is abit of a character with his rendition of the 'Last Night of the Proms' :-)

We stayed in Geilo to avoid the high prices of Oslo Hotels. It seemed to be an excellent winter resort but for the summer, it is in the middle of nowhere. There weren't many customers so there was almost no staff except for the receptionist. The entrance was huge, luxurious and had many nice places to sit, but when we...
