We stayed at Phonemany Guesthouse for 1 night during a recent trip to Laos and would recommend this as a good place to stay in Pakbeng if you’re after somewhere simple but clean to stay.
ROOM
• Our room was large, clean, and comfortable.
• The décor & furnishings were simple but comfortable.
• The bed was large and very firm but comfortable.
• The air-conditioning worked very well.
• Our room was relatively quiet, though we faced the main street and could hear much of the street noise.
• The bathroom was fairly basic, with no shower cubicle just a shower nozzle which wet most of the room when you had a shower. The water pressure was poor and the hot water intermittent and you couldn’t flush toilet paper down the loo, but considering where you are, it’s not too bad.
SERVICES & FACILITIES
• The free included wifi worked poorly and intermittently.
• We had dinner and breakfast at the guesthouse and the food was simple but good.
• The staff were helpful & friendly but spoke little English.
LOCATION
• The guesthouse is not far from the riverfront, right in the centre of town.
• There’s not much in town to see, but the temple and markets up the road were interesting enough.

Eenmaal aangekomen van de pier ( let op je backpacks en koffers en neem ze zelf mee naar je guesthouse ) een wandeltje van 500 meter naar dit guesthouse. Keurige kamers: schoon, ruim en redelijke gratis wifi. Alles dik in orde en eten is ook van goede kwaliteit. Wij aten de koi ( fris gekruide kipstukjes met rozijnen, mint en Lemon.) verder is er weinig te zien in t dorpje behalve restaurants en guesthouses. Geniet van het moment..
