My first night in Laos after being in Vietnam over a year. Although the owners speak little english they were very helpful and assisted me with my bike, and more. They charge extra for the drinks so if your going to get some food and drink I would go elsewhere. Small rooms but still quaint. Good Wifi, cant complain.

I am a cheap basic traveler. This place was perfect. We stayed at the longma next to the liquor store. The lady welcoming us was so sweet (no english at guesthouse) she showed us 1room but we were hoping to pay less. WE just started opening doors and found a 2 twin room with very basic shared bathroom cold shower. our room was so cute...wooden floors, door out to shared balcony, no screens on windows. . WE paid 50,000 kip for 2 people. Do not book on agoda, they dont have a computer and no english. .

Very basic, clean

We stayed before & after going to viengxai for 4 days total

Dont miss wet market in xam neua

The other guesthouse which Lonely planet recommends K-something was 80,000

WE stayed there first night after long bus ride a bit pricey

Looked at the neighboring guesthouse also 80,000 both of these have private bathroom-longma offers these too

Remember this review is for the longma next to the liquor store not the one further down same block

We had an odd experience of this place (and Sam Neua in general!) We booked through agoda so had already paid. When we arrived they weren't expecting us and we had to insist that we'd booked. They eventually agreed. Very basic room. Cleanish but wasn't keen to spend too much time in it. Bathroom was also basic with some grubby walls and piping but it did have hot water. Owners seemed nice enough but they kept to themselves and we didn't see much of them.
