From checkin with a very rude receptionist we were worried. The room was filthy with none of the promised views. Bathroom needed a very good scrub with a lot of chemicals. Beds were not comfortable. The only good thing was the location. They advertise parking but there are 2 spots which seemed to have permanently parked cars.

As others have posted here, I booked online through Venere.com and notified the hotel that I would arrive after 11pm. I arrived after a very tough day at 11.45pm in pouring rain to find the front door locked and the lady proprietor extremely unfriendly telling me that they expect guests to arrive by 8pm and that I was lucky she...

Just stayed here for one night. It's more like a b&b than hotel. The sea view room was quieter than I expected, as it's close to the road. The doors in the other rooms, and noise of the guests above was really not good. So, take some ear plugs if you decide to stay here. There are a few other...

To be fair due to circumstances beyond our control, we arrived at 11pm at night and were unable to ring ahead. As it was a hotel we presumed there would be a night porter instead we stood on the porch in torrential rain ringing the door bell. Eventually we found a number to ring, my husband eventually got through to...

I have never been treated as rudely as the woman who runs this hotel treated me. She shouts at customers, was upset when she had to wake up for a 9am checkout, nothing worked properly and I will NEVER go back. Unfortunately this was the one time I booked a hotel before looking at Trip Advisor. I tried to cancel...

We booked this hotel from booking.com as we had always had a good experience with this site and the hotel description corresponded to our expectations. This time we had booked a garden view room and on our arrival we had been put in to a rat hole in the subbasement. Room was dirty with dust everywhere (curtains, fan, walls etc...)...

This hotel was terrible, small room, old furnished, torn sheets, there was disgusting smell in the whole hotel; This hotel is not 2 stars, probably is hostel / pansion. In my reservation was written free parking, but there was no free space. There was a woman who did not speak any other language except french. I saw the room and...

Cap d' Ail is beautiful place, but this hotel definitely is not. This is not a hotel! This is a bed & breakfast, the room was very old and poor, no air condition..The owner is a funny lady..she thinks that she is a Brigitte Bardot :)

Stayed at the Hotel Normandy through the Monaco Grand Prix weekend. Originally booked for 2 people, I ended up here on my own from the Wednesday prior to the race until departure on the Tuesday after. Welcome was warm and friendly, although as the room was booked through the firm I was working for there was initially some confusion over...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Normandy Cap d'Ail is located only 5 minutes away from Monaco by car. Nearby is a very special beach called Plage Mala. This is one of the six secret beaches on the cote d'Azure. When you see it you will understand why. The beach is 10 minutes by foot. Hotel Normandy is a family run hotel. The hotel used to be an old Villa back in the old days. We are an artistic and bohemian family. Twice a year we invite artist to exhibit in the hotel. We try to inspire our clients and try to make them feel at home in this beautiful French little village. Our rooms vary in size. If you like to be comfortable we recommend the four seaview rooms at the front of the hotel; two of them have a small terrace. We also recommend the apartment suite; we recently put 3 rooms together to make a large and modern accommodation. This suite has a large bathroom decorated with marble, Italian designer shower, wash basin & WC. We have also renovated seven bathrooms this year (November 2010) in the hotel for our customer to enjoy our hotel even more. We have a following of many loyal customers that enjoy the old style of the hotel and others that do not want to spend too much money. We still have standard rooms at reasonable prices and smaller seaview rooms with view to Cap Ferrat. The rooms are cleaned and new towels are replaced on a daily basis. Our cleaning lady is of the old kind and she is part of the history of the hotel, as her father took part in building it in 1920s. A self service breakfast buffet is served in the dinning room. You will find coffee, cereals, fresh croissant and different types of bread from the baker nearby, orange juice, milk, ham, salami, marmalade, cheese and fruits when available. Please call and we will be glad to talk you trough the best choice for your stay. BisouHotel Normandy ... more   less
