There are two opinions from hotel Mesikämmen. You liked it or not. we were there with 10 family's and half liked hotel, but half didn't. Rooms are old and not so good, but hotel's architecture is something really special. Corridors with rock walls are unforgettable. Nearby Zoo was also nice suprise. Food in the restaurant was good, but maybe little...

Nice location in the middle of nature. Rooms are in a pretty poor condition, beds are not very confortable. The hotel architecture, which is partly built inside a natural rock formation is very nice. So great potential but in need of work. Food selection is not very good and after a few days it gets very old. But for a...

A nice hotel, interesting architecture. Large clean room with a balcony overlooking a beautiful lake. There is a restaurant that includes free breakfast buffet. I must say that I did not enjoy the food. I am very tolerant of questionable food. However, this was not good. The menu, the prep, and the taste were all lacking. This place has a...

What a great hotel! Awesome architecture, good service, nice rooms, lot of activities and nature! The hotel is worth to see; build partly inside solid rock back in 1970s. The rooms are basic (no aircon), but our room had balcony with a view to lake. Toilet / shower room was renovated and large. The only thing missing from 5 star...

+Nice staff +Amazing location +The rooms have a lake view and a balcony +Surprisingly the ribs at the dinner were excellent -The interior was shabby and old and the hall smelled like cigarettes -The rooms have no WiFi -No air conditioning My overall experience was still 4 stars because of the location and the surroundings.

The hotel has one of the most beautiful surroundings I have visited in Finland. The hotel was old and at least the room me and my family were was really in bad condition the bed was uncomfortable and the pillow flat. We stayed two nights and the breakfast staff was rude the first morning but totally opposite the next. Breakfast...

The hotel is located near to the lake and there are a lot of activities nearby for children and adults such as the zoo, flow park, golf etc. It is also recommended to walk around and enjoy the nature. Rooms (especially in "extra wing") are worn out, beds and pillows were pretty bad too. However the room was clean. Breakfast...

This hotel is a memorable experience. I don't think many hotels are that memorable, but the architecture makes it such. One must see it, it cannot be really described. The four floors are not top of each other, but spread on the area, since the hotel is built on a downhill ground towards the lake. Therefore it blends into the...

Good place to stay if visiting Ähtäri Zoo. Hotel is nice, but a bit worn out already. Nice lake views from the rooms and nice architecture. Food quality is nothing special, breakfast is ok, dinner buffet is not worth the money, rather order from a la carte. There is a small pool/spa at the hotel with free access for morning...

Hotelli Mesikämmen suits best for persons or families, who wish to use their time in different fitness activities, or visit the Ähtäri Zoo, with its Flowpark, which is just a couple hundred meters from the hotel. We just stayed overnight, and did not use available possibilities (except visited the Zoo to see the newcomer, red panda). The hotel was built...
