I visited the pub to arrange a surprise 40th Birthday Party and I have to say that the service was excellent and Landlord and Landlady John and Gill were brilliant. I looked at a few local pubs and John and Gill provided the best all round option, and I'm glad I chose The Three Horseshoes. Gill was very helpful and...

My wise companion and I made the great decision of visiting here for Sunday lunch. The pub had a really warm homely feel to it. With those lovely roaring logs fires to warm the extremities. The welcome we received on entering was very extremely friendly and set the tone of for what was a pleasant stay. My cunning partner and...

I visited here with friends and our two toddlers. I always find it daunting eating out with young children as not every one likes to be in their company but this place could not have been more accommodating. We walked in to be greeted by the lovely friendly landlady who showed us to our table where a soft toy was...

What a smashing review. The atmosphere we want to create is as if you were at a friends house BUT without the washing up. Glad it hit the spot with you all (and that you enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding which is naughty but so nice). Thank you for taking the time to write this review. (and the children were...

Come here a lot with friends, always great food and service, good choice of beers, reasonable prices, clean tables, well presented meals, friendly and accommodating staff. The only slight issue is that we always have to drive due to the location, but still well worth a visit for a Sunday lunch or evening meal.

We pride ourselves on our great food (traditional English but all home cooked) and attentive persoanlised service. So thank your for your review as it is so rewarding to be able to feedback your comments to our staff both in the kitchen and the bar.

We had 3 rooms last night which were very comfortable and clean. The bar is charming and the food looked fabulous although we didn't eat there as we were attending a family party. We will be returning to try the food soon.

As a regular visitor to Alton, this is definitely my favourite place to eat. There is always a warm & friendly welcome from the landlords and all the staff as well as the 'locals'. I have dined with friends, family or even visited on my own without feeling uncomfortable. The food is freshly cooked and is always delicious! During the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A traditional pub with over two hundred years of history. The Three Horseshoes is located in the beautiful countryside of the South Downs National park in East Worldham, just outside Alton. Friendly and welcoming, The Three Horseshoes is hugely popular with walkers, families and with dog owners. Inside the comfortable pub has roaring log fires and flickering candles in winter. In the summer, there is a beautiful walled garden - hidden away for you to relax in the sunshine, savouring a long cool drink. Its mature shrubs, surrounded by the old forge outbuildings, offer a peaceful world away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The Three Horseshoes' menus are of the highest quality, balancing the hearty flavours of good traditional British eating with a more refined approach, the result being sophisticated but satisfying dishes to suit all tastes. Wherever possible the kitchen sources produce locally for use in not only the main menu but in light bites , daily changing specials and home-made traditional desserts. For those travelling to dine, you might consider booking a room for the night - The Three Horseshoes provides five letting rooms and space for motor-homes in the car park. ... more   less
