We stayed at this hotel in Portugal during the first week of March 2020 just before the lock-down started. The hotel is located about 1.5 miles to the marina in a peaceful location, there is small reasonably priced shop within about 200 metres. We stayed in a superior one bed apartment (room 77 on the fourth floor). We were checked in quickly and efficiently by Fiona who was very pleasant and welcoming. The apartment was spacious, consisting of bedroom, entrance / living & dining area, small kitchenette and south west facing balcony. Facilities included shower/bath, hob, microwave, oven, kettle, toaster, fridge/freezer, utensils etc, TV, sofa bed, table and chairs. Room was well looked after and cleaned 6 days a week. Wardrobe door was quite stiff to open and close in bedroom. Communal areas were pleasant and always clean and tidy. We did not use the pool area or restaurant so cannot comment on these. There is a courtesy bus that runs 3 times day to the marina, but again we did not use, preferring to walk. We really enjoyed our holiday staying at this hotel and would definitely stay here again. The location is not ideal if you want easy access (without transport) to the marina, but the setting was very pleasant, peaceful, close to a number of golf resorts and good for those who like to walk. For those who like to walk a little further, there are some very nice areas to explore, particularly the coastline to the west of Vilamoura which is stunning.…
I normally use hotels, but if all apartments are as good as this I would change. I booked a superior 1 bedroom apartment. This was very well equipped with a full size fridge/freezer and oven with four rings. There was also a microwave, toaster and kettle. There was loads of crockery, cutlery, pots/pans and glassware. There was loads of wardrobe space & more hangers than I have at home. The bedroom had twin beds & the bathroom was fine (shower only). The living area was comfortable with a huge balcony overlooking the pool. I had breakfast included which was only 6 euros a day & was great value. It is all buffet including some hot food. Coffee is from a machine and there is a toaster. I had one lunch in the restaurant, and there seems to be a good menu for lunch and dinner with reasonable prices for food and drink. There is entertainment some evenings, but I didn't attend so can't comment. There is a decent size pool with sun loungers around. Reception is open 24 hours and there are a few seats and a good selection of books and magazines. The place is very clean & all staff members are professional, friendly & efficient (speaking excellent English). The supermarket in the complex opposite is small but remarkably well stocked & reasonably priced. The Spar appeared to be closed for the winter. It is about a steady 30 minute (pretty flat) walk to the marina (slightly longer if you go by the beach). The free shuttle bus runs 3 times a day & is handy if you don't fancy the walk. The little tourist trains are time-tabled to run regularly from the apartments, but they were not reliable (maybe that improves in high season). So it is a little out of the way, but that also means it's quiet and the walk to the town is safe and pleasant. My only slight niggle would be the TV reception. There was no signal on about half of the channels throughout my visit. I appreciate you don't come on holiday to watch TV, but when you travel alone it's all you have for company. I would return in a heartbeat…
We stayed here for 1 week and we could not have asked for more , the rooms are very very good . can highly recommend and we will be going back in 2021. There are 2 bars and a very good restaurant with in a 5 min walk
Pro: Quiet Garden pool to sit at Rooms good quality Food overall better than average 3*. Compliments to the cook Pleasant friendly young man with professional attitude on reception helped me connect to internet Efficient maintenance man who came to fix hot water tank Con: I arrived late in evening. No hot water for shower etc Went to reception, chap said he'd tell his colleague tomorrow. Trailed back weary and travel worn and realized he hadn't offered me a room to wash in I was too tired, fed up, and a distance away in an apartment so went to bed Next morning traipsed over again to report it Arrogant chap with beard said " that's strange, it doesn't happen". No apology or concern for the customer. I got the feeling he doesn't like single female travellers. He said " did someone use it before you" with no attempt to check my booking The following day my sheets were changed and my cashmere ballet slippers I wear in bed vanished. I went to reception and the same chap said " did you have them with you?" Again inference that I was at fault. I didn't get them back Its 2 km from the marina and too far to walk for most. Taxis 6/7 euro Staff in restaurant mixed One very pleasant woman, then a second one who behaves really over the top. Again she had an unprofessional attitude, giving attention to get tips. I found it unneccessary and uncomfortable to listen to. I was really surprised as I had seen really good staff reviews in tripadvisor …
Stayed here for one week. Staff very welcoming. Food excellent and reasonably priced. Apartment comfortable, well equipped and spacious. Very good overall experience. Quite a distance to certain tre of vilamoura but there's a regular shuttle bus service. Would recommend.
