Just got back from my stay the apartments are very good value.close to tha marina and shops etc. They have just painted the outside and looks a lot better. Already booked for next yesr. Staff very helpful.
I need to warn people about this scruffy complex. We booked an apartment through an owners direct type site and were promised a lovely, quiet holiday. The owners (a British older couple) lied to us about their lovely quiet apartment - saying it was like their second home and how their favourite restaurant was near by etc...it created a pretty nice image and the photos looked good. It wasn’t cheap although we now know that it is a budget complex really! Okay - we weren’t expecting our usual 4 star but we did expect a 3 star comparison. It was far from that!! Half the complex is derelict so if you stay on one side, you will be overlooking the derelict buildings. The pool - oh dear!! You have to lie on the grass - there are no loungers allowed just plastic chairs and tables on one side. The cafe isn’t open much. Other people can access the pool from other complexes (called Edifícios) with a key code so basically anyone given the code can use it. This one is called Edificio Porto marina and also known as Algardia. The worse thing was the noise. There are lots of younger Portuguese staying here and they party all night so we had to listen to the girl above us stomping around until gone midnight in her heels getting ready to go out and then again in the early hours. We stayed a week. The grounds were also full of dog dirt. Please do not stay in this place. I wish we hadn’t. Yes it’s close to the marina but it’s just not a good trade off. Dirty, run down and noisy.…
I have just returned from a family holiday at the Algardia Marina Parque. This accommodation had both good and bad points. Good:- Great location Great Pool Great Service Good shower Good value for money Bad:- Dated furniture Hard bed Noisy neighbours (I asked them to keep the noise down and they did) All in all, we had a great time. The location of this accommodation makes for a great holiday. Only 2 minutes walk to the marina and 10 minutes to the beach. There are no sun beds at the pool and everyone just relaxes on towels.
I must start by saying the apartment was lovely very modern very clean and well equipped. We arrived and called from the airport to say we would get there for 12-30 am a representative met us at 12-31 so no issue there. The lift is still broken luckily as we were only staying one night we left our luggage in the car. The downside of the apartment was the noise when we arrived lots of young people were on the balconies or going out to party consequently I was awoken at 6-30 when they returned. Not that they were doing anything wrong but you could here people talking on balconies as the court yard bounced the sound chairs being dragged etc. If you are young and want to party the location is close to the marina. I feel slightly unfair giving average as the apartment certainly wasn’t the view from the balcony overlooked the marina it was modern fresh and bright, but I have to be honest and consider all aspects for one night it was fine but long term the noise would be an issue.…
My dad, two brothers and myself were staying in room 402 to attend a family wedding. Let’s just say the only good thing I can say about the apartment is the terrace. Very good size and a perfect spot to relax. The actual apartment however was very dated with cracks in most the tiles and old tatty beds that were pretty much camp beds. As we arrived to the apartments there was no one at reception even though we had emailed them special arrangements to make sure someone will be there due to a late flight. They even confirmed they would be there. After asking our taxi driver to contact them in Portuguese, someone finally came...but with the wrong key. Waited a total of two hours just to be disappointed with the service and the room. Good location though.
