This is a great place to spend a romantic weekend. The 7 course meal and wine pairing is a true experience. We appreciated all the staff as they truly understand customer service. And the General Manager Ben obviously cares deeply about everyone and everything. Our room was on the second floor with wonderful views of the lake. Some great beers...

Viamede's "Quick Escape" package was just what we needed for a little sanity break. Not too far from the city but a world away from work, traffic and noise. We had a great little cabin right on the lake and nothing better than sitting on your deck in the morning and watching the loons and geese with their goslings swim...

I had the unique pleasure of spending two consecutive weekends at Viamede: the first was for my 45th nursing class reunion (23 women) and the second was for a spring conference (75 women). Viamede is a bit rustic, it is early in the season and some of the cabins needed a little more attention to detail - specifically cleanliness. The...

We had no idea what to expect, but we'd heard from people who had visited over the years, so we figured we were in for something special. We went up mid-April, wanting to get out and enjoy the warming weather. We were greeted by the Lake and the budding trees, it was just what we needed. Our cottage had an...

I was excited to arrive at Viamede resort having missed two previous nursing reunions held there. It is located on a lake with quaint cottages bordering it There is a main lodge and indoor pool in which you can swim thru a plastic screen to an outdoor pool and hot tub. there is an assortment of varying sized log cottages...

I went with some friends for a shoulder-season girls' writing getaway. The food was amazing - the poutine my friends ordered looked divine, the chicken wings were great, and breakfast had sausages that were to die for. The rooms were cozy, the in-room fireplace was awesome, and the indoor-outdoor pool was a ton of fun. The hiking trails are great...

Had a group of athletes staying and asked to change breakfast time as 8:30 too late. The general manager would not even try to change schedule, said no right away. Asked if he could try to bring in some staff and said no.

You can't beat the location but the service is a little lacking. They just need to work on the small things. We stayed a weekend in a cottage in the winter not enough wine glasses😄no dish towels, not enough towels, no fire wood starter.............no phone to call the front desk. Normally would post but the are charging a big rate...

Dear shailstone, Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It certainly seems that service was not up to par during your stay, and I apologize for that. You should certainly have glasses, towels and fire starter in your cottage and we've reviewed this with our team. We look forward to welcoming you again in the future. Cheers, Ben Samann

We came for the dinner at Mount Julian across the road and stayed for the in-room fireplace, indoor/outdoor pool and snowshoeing through fresh powdered snow. We enjoyed our weekend thanks to the easygoing and helpful staff. Not a luxury spot but certainly cozy in the winter. If you're lucky you'll spot the neighbourhood family of deer!

The last time I was at Viamede was last spring. I thought I'd try it in the winter and I wasn't disappointed! Snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and skating kept us busy during the day. An indoor swim and sauna, got out all the kinks and then we had a fantastic dinner at Mount Julian, the resort's upscale dining option. New chef...
