We were here with friends for drink and food and the service was absolutely terrible. Our waiter was rude and the boss was aggressive and wasn’t wearing a mask. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Was a mistake coming here

This place is located by the south edge of the little island "isola dei pescatori", the position offers great view over isola Bella, which is in itself one reason to book right away a front row table at the restaurant belonging to the hotel - the other being the excellent food based on fish from the lake which I really recommend. I add a picture taken from the table at dinner time. This place is not about details such as fine toiletries which you will not find, but it has a class on its own, with old interiors and architecture, besides its unique position of course. I attach the picture of an old painting just above the bed, as an example. We took "camera Verdi", large and comfortable, which has a great own terrace where you can lie in the sun during the day when masses of tourists invade the little island - they come after 10 a.m. and disappear after 16. Well, you can also join the masses and visit other islands nearby... it is well worth. What makes this place even more unique are two ladies, Elisabetta and Marianna, extraordinary characters with a lot of humour and capable of creating a very familiar environment. They are also very attentive to the guests' needs, and made no doubt the difference for us. This place makes for a different experience.

Lovely hotel, room charming Italian style and very spacious with an amazing view of isola bella from the bedroom. Breakfast was tasty and very filling, needed as we were doing long hikes by day. Great service too, very friendly and helpful!

I probably should keep this lovely place secret as I don't want to share such a great find with anyone else! the view is gorgeous. truly stunning. the place is v Simple, if you want frills go elsewhere but for wonder ful views 20m from lake Maggiore this is the place. huge thanks to Marianna who not only looked after us at breakfast each day but recommended the best restaurants and trips. Roberto and team looked after us well.

We extended our stay an extra day to enjoy the islands and the ambiance of Lago Maggiano. Villa Toscanini was super. Clean, friendly, and perfect views of Isola Bella and the coastline. A terrific deal. Note the island is quite busy with day-visit tourists and is considerably slower after the last ferry leaves. Some very nice restaurants on the island. Free restaurant boat shuttle to a Stresa if you are not staying on the island. A restful, magical location and terrific hosts at Villa Toscanini.

I love this little place. I have travelled all over the world and I would rather stay in a 3 star like this, with great food, staff and customer care, than any nameless 5 star chain hotel. Roberto owns the place and takes care to look after his guests. The breakfasts were lovely, Apero was wonderful with loads of delicious complimentary bar snacks - the Italians never drink without eating. The hotel is simple, very clean and has the most lovely view over the water. It is also at the quieter end of the island.

Very small and simple, yet very romantic hotel. Clean, organized and beautiful situated. Friendly staff and cute little island. Fantastic views! Nice to stay on the island overnight, because during the day there will be a lot of tourists.

We (2 adults, 2 small children) stayed here for 2 nights at the end of March. We very much enjoyed our stay. Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly owner Roberto, who showed us to our 2 bedroom apartment on the top floor, overlooking Lago Maggiore and Isola Bella. The room was basic but very clean and spacious. Breakfast in the morning was a nice Italian style breakfast, with various bread options, muffins, toast, jams, Nutella, etc. On the second day we got fresh croissants filled with apricot jam. Delicious. They also serve fresh cappuccino, hot chocolate, etc. We had lunch at the hotel, outside on the terrace overlooking the lake. Food was delicious - decent portions, great taste, and very acceptable prices. I highly recommend this hotel if you are planning a visit to Lago Maggiore. Just note that the hotel is on an (pittoresque) island which means you have to take a (10 minute) boat trip to get there.

We came here for a lunch with friends. This is a wonderful outside dining room with full awning and great views of the lake. The food was exquisite - works of art. Prices were reasonable especially considering the location. Starters were around €8 and mains €10-12. The menu is predominantly fish orientated, but there were other options too and as a vegetarian I enjoyed three lovely fish and meat-free courses. All of the food was beautifully presented and unlike other arty food places I have been to, this looked good, tasted amazing and actually filled you up! The staff were all very friendly and were very family friendly too. There are steps to the restaurant but the staff will help carry a pushchair up and down. There was no baby change place, but there was a big wooden chest outside the toilet which served the purpose perfectly. I heartily recommend this place to anyone making a trip to Isola dei pescatori!

We stayed for just one night. we arrived early but our room was ready and we had a very pleasant lunch before spending the rest of the afternoon hopping on and off the ferries. Our room (Pucini) was on the first floor and had small balcony overlooking the lake and Isola Bella. There was free internet, very good bathroom and buffet breakfast although we were asked if we wanted eggs. From about 5.30 all the stalls have packed up and the island is so quiet and peaceful. Obviously no crime problem because nothing was locked up - just curtains across the front of the shops and stalls. When we woke next morning it was so quiet and then gradually as the ferries started the workers and then visitors arrived. We would love to return and use as a base for further exploration.
