We were greeted like old friends by Romney. We really liked it. It is a b&q and slightly quirky. We had a welcome tea and biscuits with her young daughter which we loved. We met the horses, walked their dog and had a great stay. It is not a formal hotel and probably wouldn't suit super shy and retiring people...

This old and tasteful looking place could be just what you are looking for. It was just like visiting an old Aunt who was once wealthy. Yes there was a four poster bed, and the welcome was friendly. However cleaning and dusting were the last tings on the list. We found pet hairs in our bed along with a stain...

The moment you step through the door into a warmly lit hall, with its stone floor and polished wooden stairs, the house embraces you. Romney Pargeter, who has created this charming Cotswold retreat, a stone's throw from the River Thames, is the perfect hostess. Her sumptuous full English breakfast, with delicious home made yoghurt to start, was truly a fest...

We only stayed for one night but just so lovely. From the wonderful greeting, tea and cake in the drawing room, amazing breakfast, finishing with a big chin wag in the kitchen before we left. We stayed in the annex with three dogs (who were made very welcome and behaved very well) the room was lovely, the bed comfortable. If...

Stayed for one night whilst working nearby. Romney offered a lovely tea when I arrived, the room was spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious. The house is interesting and full of nice things, and Romney was very kind and helpful.

The location is perfect for walking or a relaxing countryside break. If you are looking for glitz and glamour this place is not for you. It is a wonderful old house, typically rural with slate floored entrance hall containing wellies and umbrellas. Surrounded by paddocks with ponies, geese, chickens and peacocks and a very friendly resident dog. The welcome was...
