Our first experience of living in a cottage style cabin. We rented a 2 bedroom cabin with private bathroom. The room is simple but it looks really lovely with the woody interior. All the private cabins are located on the higher side of the area and has amazing view of the mountains. It was really cold but the heater works...

This is a delightful little place that offers a variety of accommodation styles including a hostel, cabins, camping grounds, and spots for mobile homes, which really suits any kind of traveller and is welcoming to all people and ages. We had a private room in the hostel with a private bath. The room included a small table with chairs, and...

Perfect base for adventures around Flam. We were lucky to have beautiful sunny weather and spent our days hiking, biking, and kayaking. Staff is very friendly, helpful, and will happily answer all your questions. The bike rentals are a good deal. Note: the stores have limited hours, especially before the official start of the tourist season, May 1st. (Which is...

We stayed for 2 nights in a twin room with ensuite. The room was simple, comfortable and clean with a lovely view. Although the bed is a bunk, the bottom bed is large enough to sleep 2. The shared kitchen and lounge are well equipped, clean and comfortable. Good value accommodation for Norway prices.

Beautiful location and a clean hostel. Easy walk from the train station or boat dock. Easy check-in as well. We had a private room and bath. Shower had good pressure and good hot water. Super clean kitchen as well. If you are going on a fjord tour and staying overnight, you can leave your luggage at the main office at...

This was the cheapest hostel I could find in the fjord region, for the dates that I travelled. I stayed in a 4 bed dorm and I was pleasantly surprised at how spacious and comfortable it was. The shops, cafes, restaurants and the tourist info office are a only 5 min walk away, and there is lovely scenery everywhere you...

We stop over in Flam hostel for 1 night as we wanted to take the morning NIN FLAM Railway train. It was about 5 mins walk from the ferry terminal which also houses the railway station to the hostel. The lady at the reception was expecting us as I had updated my estimated arrival time to her prior. She was...

Nice and relax place with big kitchen. Laundry is at another building beside. There is a cafe just at the entrance of the camp but we didn't visit it. We stay in their ensuite room. The bunker bed had a larger bed below but not a queen. Room is not big but good cosy enough. Toilet is like a airplane...

I'm probably just showing my age & ignorance but whenever I thought of youth hostels, I thought of shared bathrooms, smelly mattresses and noisy neighbours partying until the early hours - that would have been fine once, but now in my 30's and having a weekend away without the toddler in tow, it's not something I'd normally book! However, I...
