We choose the hotel on a Saturday morning, on booking.com for about 58/night a double room, including breakfast. The hotel is almost on top of a hill, with enough space for parking. The wide view from the room included windmills, farms, hills and far mountains. The room was clean, quiet and warm. We enjoy the croissant from the breakfast, the...

After a long journey it was a relief to check in to a welcome hotel late at night. Good and helpful reception on providing all necessary answers to our queries. The hotel is modern and is situated on top of a hill with great panoramic views. Room and facilities all very clean as expected of Portuguese hotels.

We were tempted to stay longer at this excellent hotel. It exceeds its 3* rating. It would be difficult to find a better hotel in this category. The rooms are airy, fresh and clean with crisp white cotton bed linen, although the pillows are tiny. A down side is the old fashioned tv. The views are stunning. We enjoyed the extensive...

Very nice hotel in a beautiful, but very hilly, city. The panorama view from the restaurant is fantastic. Very affordable price. Good breakfast and parking close to the hotel. The city ogf Guarda is situated more than 1000 meters above sea. Besutiful scenary.

I have enjoy the Vanguarda hotel since more than 7 years ago and visited it each 2/3 years and more often during the last months. Although rated as a 3 stars its standards are higher. Much more a good 4stars than a formal 3, just old tv screens instead of flat ones. Not to miss its good continental breakfast Buffet...

For a three star hotel one cannot ask for more: friendly staff; quite comfortable; very clean; enough parking on the street or very cheap parking in the hotel; good breakfast; walking distance from the center. Enjoy!

It´s a 3 * hotel with great quality, both the bedroom and food were great. We stayed in a double room with our children and was a very good choice at a very reasonable price. The staff was also friendly and the garage a real bargain, only 2,5 € (50% discount) which one must use in the winter. Free Wifi...

Alright for a one night stay, does the job, nothing much else. Hotel charges for parking, but found no problem parking on the street overnight. Standard 3* hotel, seems its more for the traveling sales rep but alright for tourists for a night. Standard rood lodge type rooms, old fashioned TV (can't remember the last time I've seen one in...

This hotel is in Guarda, 5 hours approximately from Santander and then an onward 3 hour drive to our rented villa. It is, and has been for several years, and multiple visits, an absolute jewel of a hotel. They have an underground car park (supposedly 5€ but free if you’ve stayed before or you hassle them!) which is so good...

There are many positive views about this hotel and all I can do is confirm this is a great location for those driving into or out of Portugal wanting a good value overnight stay. It's clean quiet and for 15 euros you can have a buffet dinner with 3 or4 choices of dish.
