Second visit to this old school, wonderful hotel. As said previously there are lots of beautiful modern hotels in the area, this isn’t one of them. What this is, lies not in the building, but with the staff. What this excels at is service, not in a stuffy formal way, indeed some of the staff are really fun and joke with you. This hotel is exceptional and you feel like someone special from the moment you start your holiday. I don’t feel a need to repeat all the other comments about the food etc, but I agree with all the 5 star reviews. It does indeed cater for an older clientele and as one returner ( 17 years she has visited), told me she feels safe and looked after and she sees the same faces every year, testament to the ethos of palm beach. Don’t let that put you off if you’re younger as there is a mixture of nationalities and of age groups, from a baby to people in their 80’s. We talked about it that much that my Son aged 31 is now going in a week, do I need to say anymore.…
We have just returned from this hotel and have mixed reviews. The hotel is well placed next to the Maspalomas Beach and is smart, clean and very well fitted out, The staff are very friendly and courteous, We found the staff in the restaurant had difficulty speaking English which caused a problem one night when I asked for a variation of one of the dishes. They had four tries and in the end I gave up. I wanted a different vegetable than Red Cabbage but ended up with chips. The rooms are very clean and smart although when making up the rooms the teas and coffees were not re-filled and we had to ask. We both became ill with sickness and Diarrhoea which lasted 24 hours and the staff on reception were very helpful sending up water and food. Other people in the hotel had the same sickness. I can't be sure what caused it, it could have been any number of reasons. The bus station is nearby which is very good and not expensive. For bird watches there is a nature reserve just across the road with many different species of birds, In conclusion we would stay here again.…
We have visited this hotel around fifteen times over twenty years. This time we stayed for ten nights in a room on the 6th floor and had an excellent experience. The hotel is extremely well managed and the staff do a marvellous job in keeping everything running to perfection including keeping the hotel and grounds spotlessly clean. There is a good choice of food in the three restaurants, we particularly enjoyed the Esencia restaurant and the BBQ nights in the main restaurant.
Our third visit, we can't wait to go back next year. Excellent service from all staff. Delicious food, great pool. It was great to receive a champagne birthday treat. however the pillows were dreadful.
Meloneras has an impressive parade of elegant hotels fronting its stunning promenade. We’ve stayed in several of them over the years, and their cosmetic appeal is undeniable. But the Seaside Palm Beach achieves in spades what is a seldom attained aspiration for these modern, prodigious hotels. It’s that elusive goal of creating an ideal blend of formality, fun and relaxed homeliness, of making guests feel that the caring concern exhibited by all staff, whatever their role, is absolutely sincere. There’s no amount of money poured into glitzy glass-fronted fascias, palm fringed atriums or over hyped swim-up rooms that can help bring that about. At the Palm Beach it’s an imbedded culture, skilfully curated by perspicacious and effective management. Palm Beach has rapidly become our firm favourite holiday destination. We’ve been made to feel very comfortable here: very much part of a harmonious family unit. One of the consequences of this is that when we read some of the outpourings of ‘keyboard warriors’ making critical comments in forums such as this, often about the most trivial issues, we want to yell out ‘why didn’t you raise that issue when you were at the hotel? Had you done so I’m sure it would’ve been sorted immediately!’ People like to grumble. They prefer to store up their grievances and bleat about them when they come home. It’s almost a cathartic release for them: perhaps part of their post-holiday blues psyche. But it’s downright misleading for others who may be contemplating a visit to this fine hotel and frustrating for the staff at the hotel who go way beyond the extra mile to make everyone’s holiday experience just so perfect. There’s keen competition amongst hotels in this most desirable corner of Gran Canaria. If you seek a well managed hotel in a homely wrapper with modern comforts, outstanding service, and a terrific location then look no further! We stayed for three weeks from late January. Whilst there we switched our May booking from our former favourite hotel in Cyprus to come here again instead. And we’ve bookings arranged for autumn and next winter too. It’s that sort of place, so be warned - you may never want to go anywhere else for your beach holiday. Why would you? A terrific holiday, and a huge thank you to the wonderful team at Palm Beach for making it so. We’re much looking forward to our return.…
This is the eighth time we have stayed at Palm Beach, the first since Covid. It continues to be as excellent as ever. Returning is just like settling into your favourite comfy chair. The management are ever present and assisting the staff to be working to a very high standard. The food is excellent with a very wide choice, particularly on barbeque nights. All the staff are cheery and helpful and you can feel that they all take great pride in the hotel. Everywhere is spotless from the rooms, the bars and restaurants, to the pools and gardens. We shall definitely be returning.
We stayed here in February for 11 nights on an all inclusive basis with our daughter and my mum. The rooms are beautifully decorated and spacious and are very comfortable. The hotel itself is spotless and the cleaners work very hard to keep it that way at all times. The African bar where you can have lunch and snacks from 11 am is well staffed and is a lovely spot overlooking one of the pools. Special thanks to Jose, Carmelo, Gregorio, Octavio, Oliver, Yaiza and Joshuef who were always cheerful, helpful and super friendly. The main restaurant where you have breakfast and evening meal does a combination of barbecue and al a carte on different nights. There is a great selection both at breakfast and evening meal. They cater for all tastes A special shout to Luis who went above and beyond to help us. My mum was having dialysis whilst we were here and he made sure that mum had everything she needed for an early breakfast. He also made a big fuss of our daughter and made us feel so welcome. A true gent and an asset to the hotel. The kids club is also really great. Patrik and Guilietta are great fun and our daughter loved doing all the crafts and sporting activities with them. A huge thank you to them too! All in all a fab, family friendly hotel with amazing staff, clean spacious rooms and good food! We would definitely return!…
Where to start….. The welcome on arrival set the tone for our weeks stay; warm friendly and utterly professional. The staff across all departments are an absolute credit to this hotel; full of personality and willing to go that extra mile to make your day. Bar staff around the pool stood out for their sheer hard work and efficiency, the restaurant staff for being both fun and incredibly attentive, the young lads looking after the sun beds were charming and the housekeeping team - delightful. A special mention to Pino who made our turn down service a highlight of the day! Food in the main restaurant was superb at both breakfast and dinner. The choices at breakfast were excellent and the way in which all buffet style meals were presented was impressive. My partner and I had a massage and we both agreed it was perfect. The hot salt pool made for a wonderful to finish our morning gym sessions. The gardens are immaculate and create an air of peace and tranquility. I would highly recommend the sea view rooms as the balconies get the sunrise and beautiful sunshine all morning. They are also very quiet. I simply cannot wait to return!…
We had a wonderful week at the Palm Beach. As a number of reviews have mentioned, the food is superb. There is an enormous range to choose from at the breakfast and evening buffets and the quality is excellent. The evening set menu nights are a nice contrast to the buffets and we had some lovely dishes. We lunched in the Bar Africano by the pool which was also very good. The hotel is elegant and well designed and feels peaceful and removed from the outside bustle as you relax among the palms. The staff are excellent; friendly, welcoming and the customer service is a delight. Special mention to Claudia who is incredibly sweet and Christhian who is friendly, fun and attentive. My son enjoyed the kids club, especially the go-karting trip. Thank you to Patrick and Juliette. Overall, strongly recommended if you are looking for a 5 star holiday in Gran Canaria.…
Although available as a package from many UK airports we booked the hotel directly for seven nights and our flights separately. This probably worked out slightly cheaper and I’m sure we got a better room because we booked this way. The hotel offers a €50 private transfer from the airport, which we made uses of. This made our arrival and departure, very smooth. The hotel is in an excellent central location and offers everything you need – two pools, bar, spa, selection of restaurants, etc, but at times although it was very neat, tidy and clean it felt a bit dated. We had a room on the top floor facing the ocean which was very spacious and had a good size deck. The bathroom was a bit small and the bed was not the most comfortable, especially the weird pillows. The breakfast buffet is amazingly good with a wide selection of food to appeal to all tastes. In fact breakfast is probably the highlight of the day. On half board an evening meal is included. The barbecues on three nights were excellent but on the other four the menu was limited and not to our taste so we opted to pay €20 per head extra to eat in the Esencia restaurant. This was a wise move, as the menu was significantly better, the service significantly better and the environment, much calmer and slower paced.…
