This is an average all inclusive hotel. Let’s start with the positive things. Adult pool area is great besides the fact you must go up at 7 am and reserve a sunbed with your towel. But it’s worth it. Great sea view and heated pool. We spent half the time of our stay here. Hotel area is large and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxing with many pools and bars. Rooms are average, clean and comfortable beds but nothing extra. Food is average. A big minus for only buffet, even in the theme restaurants. After 2-3 days you are quite tired of the food even if the quality is ok. Wine is terrible, only served in taps. I’m quite sure it’s mixed by water. Drinks are little better but quite boring. We enjoyed our stay but didn’t get any premium feeling. I guess you get what you pay for.

Just returned after 11 days at the Riu Gran Canaria. We weren’t happy with our original room and asked to be moved. We were moved the next day to a much better room with no fuss. We loved eating at the Atlantico restaurant so it’s well worth booking. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Everywhere was being cleaned consistently and we felt very covid safe. Will definitely return.

My wife and I stayed here for a week, our first trip abroad in nearly 2 years. I didn't expect much from an all-inclusive hotel in Gran Canaria, but I have to say I was very impressed by not only the quality of the food, but the location of the hotel and it's beauty overlooking the sea. Our room was big and modern, the only downside being that the towels provided in the bathroom were far too small for an average -sized human being. The bathroom was nice though, with a big walk-in shower and two sinks. The hotel is located almost right by the ocean, separated only by a path. We got up early every morning to reserve our sun loungers in the best spot; right by the adults only infinity pool. The pool was gorgeous, with seats in the water you could lie on to soak up the sun. The hotel says you can't put towels down to reserve loungers but everyone ignores this rule and it isn't reinforced. If you go down to the infinity pool any later than 7.30am, you'll not get a space by the infinity pool, so get down early! The hotel also has 3 more main pools, but they will be dominated by young children. The only negative thing about the pools is the water is quite cold, though you get used to it! The bar by the pool opens at 10am and the staff are very efficient when it comes to serving drinks. Cava, beers, wines and a selection of cocktails are available and they all tasted great. I have been to a lot of all-inclusive hotels and the food is usually so-so. Not here; there is a large variety of everything you could want, from pizzas and burgers, to lamb, beef, chicken, rice, salads, fancy desserts and different foods every day. I enjoyed the grub a lot and would always go up for more! The staff working in the dining halls were excellent, especially Abdel who worked in the Atlantico room one day and was always smiling and ready to ask you for what drink he could bring you, despite the fact the beer and wine are free-pour on-tap and you can help yourself! We also got speaking to one of the animation team, Bene, who was very friendly and spoke very highly of how much he enjoyed working there. The entertainment in the evenings was good for what it was, especially the acrobatic show we saw. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking to get away. It's a short walk away from Maspalomas beach and the sand-dunes, as well as bars and restaurants if you fancy getting out for one night.

A really enjoyable stay at the Riu Gran Canaria. Would highly recommend. Was noisy a couple of nights, but mainly very good. A good range of food most nights too. Cannot really fault the stay. Family really enjoyed their stay and hotel was overlooking the sea.
