Have stayed in this hotel a few times but feel standards have dropped a little, we feel that it needs a little upgrade and boost among staff moral, some reception staff not pleasant! it seems to have lost it's 4* touch !!! No service on roof -top pool.. need more plugs in rooms no charging points for cell phones, ball of hair under door for duration of our stay ,but otherwise quit clean, Would like to thank Ivan Drago in the Bar you really are the king of cocktails and finding gold rings in chairs!! thanks to those who participated in the disassembly of the very expensive chair and eventually finding the ring... recommend the Spa i had an awesome back and foot massage, unfortunately the indoor pool is just way too hot, not the water but the pool area it's just not healthy with hot air pumping out!! especially with Covid... To sum up we had a pleasant stay breakfast was ok even with the Covid regulations be patient..! the hotel is in a great location shops and restaurant all round, but if you want quiet book a room with pool view, we like the road with life and church bells ringing from 730am... with lateral view of the sea and Gozo.

There is a nice rooftop outdoor pool with a welcome drink. The view from the rooftop is amazing. The room was cosy and clean, with a small but nice balcony. The breakfast was really delicious with a nice champagne. Free towels were provided for the pool. The beach is not far, but the steep path is pretty challenging.

Came for some winter sun, a stay with positives and negatives I would say. We had the garden/sea view side of the hotel which is the quieter side. The other opposite side is on a busy road so noisier. The side facing the sea will have good views but would come with a noisy negative as they face the parish church who very enthusiastically ring bells for extended periods from 7:30 and continue throughout the day. One set of rooms have a window on the inside of the building. We arrived early on Monday and could not get to our room until after 3. There was a luggage room so we left our bags and went out for the day. Nice room, a little mould around the bath. The balcony loses the morning sun after 10:30. After the first night the toilet kept dripping loudly and kept us awake so we reported it. We had several visits from maintenance and reception told us all the internals had been replaced each time, yet it still leaked. In fact by Thursday it had stopped working at all! Reception staff were aloof and unhelpful. Managed to change room, unfortunately put next to a family room with screaming children and it sounded like they moved furniture around for a hobby. Came for a rest and relaxation but had very poor sleep over the week. Had bigger bags under our eyes at the end of the holiday! Breakfast was very good the staff work so hard there to make it all go smoothly. A large selection of breakfast items, fruit, cereal, toast, bread, cheese, meats and all the usual cooked items, bacon, sausage eggs etc. Had one meal in the hotel pizzeria and the food was very good, unfortunately it's a little like a cafeteria and very busy. Not somewhere you want to sit and relax but just to get food and go it was ok. Thai restaurant at the top was closed. Pool at the top was closed. Pool outside was closed. Really liked Mellieha and would go back (not to Maritim though). Public travel is very easy don't get suckered into taking a tour, you will regret it. Finally if you have to get a covid test before returning just make sure the one in Mellieha is open, it was shut over the Saturday and Sunday (bank holiday) so we had to get the bus to Bugibba, bus stop just next to the hotel.
