I've been fortunate enough to travel to many great destinations and Reconnect is easily in my top 10%. Like many good things in life, a trip to Reconnect is earned - the journey to get there as a European traveler is probably the longest one can undertake. Getting to the island of Buka Buka itself is a sensational expedition filled with tasty experiences, like embarking on a ten-seat flight over the Central Sulawesi coastal reef or being escorted by a large pod of dolphins on the boat ride to the island. Once you set foot on Buka Buka, a new journey begins. One that is filled with breathtaking scenery - both above and below sea level - and extraordinary adventure. This is a unique opportunity to experience island life, with all its surprises and unexpected gifts, while being cared for by the warm and professional Reconnect team. We stayed here 5 nights and enjoyed every single minute. The Island is just breaktaking - feels like a nearly untouched paradise. The owner of Reconnect is a very friendly, attentive, helpful and grounded french guy with whom we enjoyed together with his indonesian wife every conversation and contact. The food was delecious without any improvement wishes. The Bungalows are very clean und beautiful. You fell aslepp with the waves and wake up with them. Other Activities: You can relax and enjoy at beach with beautiful sunsets, which probably never seen before in this dimension, go snorkeling with an amazing marine life (& intact coral reef), do stand-up-paddling, go out with the boat or discover the untouched island. So i can highly recommend staying here to fullfill your energy again and try to calm down from the hectic life we are mostly surrounded all the time.…

If you’re searching for a place to reconnect, find peace and such one of the most beautiful spaces, you are perfectly right at reconnect island. The island is sustainable, the food is delicious and everybody here is super friendly. Highly recommended!

I highly recommend this place, I really enjoy staying there and enjoying the sunset with a cup of coffee, I really want to come back there, a very nice place that is there in the morning and evening, I swear the atmosphere is really cool, if you come here Central Sulawesi, don't forget that there is the most beautiful island in Ampana

Buka Buka Island is an incredible piece of remote paradise, in the middle of Central Sulawesi. After following the journey of how Thomas Despin built this resort at the door of the Togean Islands, I always wanted to go and experience living there. I went there with my girlfriend, and it was far beyond our expectations. This island has so much more to offer than what you can see on the pictures. At night, a millions stars in the sky, and just as many blinking phytoplancton in the ocean. The locals are mostly Bajau people, who happily share their unique fishing technique of speargun fishing in apnea (called "pana" here). Thomas and his wife, Elvi, always did their best to help with any arrangement we needed to get there, and they helped make our stay an incredible island experience we will never forget. We stayed for 2 weeks, but honestly, even 1 month wouldn't be enough. We'll definitely come back for our next holidays!…
