Friendly service and nice outdoor eating and drinking area..inside looked a bit cramped so good weather key. Food was of a high standard traditional pub fayre and decent volumes of it as well. Beef pie and the ploughmans particularly stood out.

Stopped here for a quick pint and packet of crisps after a nice walk. Gorgeous day so we sat outside. Very picturesque. Beer was excellent and the service friendly. Crisps were good too ! Pop in for a cheeky beer if you're passing.

Yes, there are veggie options and there are different specials each night. In Ambleside there is a very good vegetarian restaurant called Fellinis.
