My husband son and I stayed three nights with Peter and Lyn at the Paradise Valley Lodge and they were very accommodating hosts. The lodge is a little out of rotorua but if you have a car (or other transport) this is actually a bonus. Rotorua is a big and bustling place and the lodge is off in a quaint...

Paradise Valley Lodge is located in Mt Ngongotaha, a 10-minute drive from Rotorua's city center. I chose to stay here for the charming suburbs and more so to avoid the sulphur 'aroma' of Rotorua. When we arrived at the Paradise Valley Lodge, the day had turned black. Luckily the homeowner lived next door to our self-contained cottage so the check...

We stayed here for two nights with our two boys, and booked the two adjoining rooms. Lyn and Peter were very welcoming, and the rooms were great. Beautiful garden leading down to the river. Just a short drive into the centre of Rotorua. Lovely spot!

My daughter and I stayed in this beautiful location in a peaceful country setting, only 10 minutes from the city. Excellent room, modern and very clean with very friendly hosts. There were alot of great tourist attractions on the same road as the lodge.

We spent two nights here while visiting the Rotorua area and we couldn't have been happier with the accommodation and service. The only sound was the birds and the bed was so comfortable. If you are looking to visit this area but prefer a more tranquil surroundings to down town Rotorua you couldn't do better than here. Fridge and cooking...

We were delighted to find that the Country Room was not only as good as the photos, but even better! With an effective use of space without feeling crowded, good quality fittings and the surrounding picturesque green countryside, all at a very reasonable cost, this was a perfect choice. It was less than 10 mins to central Rotorua, so we...

The Country Room was comfortable, cosy and had a lovely view of the garden. The kitchen had all we needed for self catering. Heather was very helpful and we wished we could have spent more than the two nights in this lovely part of New Zealand. Also close to Rotorua attractions and restaurants.

It was a real pleasure to find this accommodation whilst juggling travel choices, it worked for us because you have the food and stuff down at Rotroua and a lovely self contained property to return to at night. You will want to enjoy the countryside staying here and there is a challenging stream to fish at the back door. Unobtrusive,...

Warm hospitality, gorgeous views, super-clean and inviting rooms - and all very handy to Rotorua attractions. We opted for a full breakfast, too, and it was delicious and kept us going until evening. Paradise Valley Lodge is truly my idea of paradise. I wish we could have stayed longer.

We spent 4 nights in the Country Room. It was very spacious & comfortable with a window seat overlooking the garden that could seat two. There was a wet room bathroom & a kitchen which had all the equipment you needed to be self contained. A bonus was being able to use the sweeping garden right down to the river.
